How the TV Times has changed! Sixty never-before-seen photographs of screen stars including Dame Helen Mirren, Sir Michael Caine, Sir Bruce Forsyth and Joanna Lumley released to celebrate the magazine's 60th birthday
In one snap, Dame Helen Mirren smiles as she lounges on a furry sofa in a silky golden gown in 2005.
In another, Sir Michael Caine looks up through his trademark black-framed glasses on the set of the 1967 film Billion Dollar Brain.
And in a third, a younger Joanna Lumley poses for a stunning close-up, with glossy lips, rosy cheeks and a mop of brown curls.
These never-before-seen photographs of screen stars are among 60 to have been released to celebrate the TV Times's 60th anniversary.
And they are certainly a blast from the past.
In addition to Mirren, Caine and Lumley, the photos show Sir Bruce Forsyth staring across a room, deep in thought, in 1967, Dame Judi Dench scuba diving in Cyprus with her late husband Michael Williams in 1980, and Sir Tom Jones squatting in front of a swimming pool.
Stephanie Beacham, meanwhile, can be seen showing off her puppy love for her Cavalier King Charles spaniels Amoreena - who was a gift from director Michael Winner and actor Marlon Brando, following their collaboration on The Nightcomers - and Minnie in a 1974 snap.
And James Bond star Sir Roger Moore is pictured enjoying a rest between filming scenes of The Saint, in which he plays Simon Templar.
The pictures are part of the magazine's 60 Years, 60 Iconic Images exhibition, in association with the Merge Festival. A second exhibition, Interplay, will feature photographs of music stars from the 1960s through to the 1980s, including The Beatles, Kate Bush and The Doors.
The TV Times's 60th exhibition is open from September 17 to October 18 at the Blue Fin Building and Platform, Southwark, in London.
