And Katherine Jenkins today showed the positive effects of the gruelling rehearsal schedule for the U.S. TV show.

The 31-year-old classical singer displayed her toned legs in a pair of ultra short floral shorts as she arrived for a TV appearance in Los Angeles today.

The blonde singer teamed her shorts with a bright pink blazer, electric blue top and platform nude heels.

She seemed in good spirits as she made her way through the crowd at The Grove outdoor shopping mall, and smiled as fans took her picture.

After several successful weeks on the show, Katherine will be hoping her appearances on the top rated TV programme will help kick star her career Stateside.

She today tweeted a photograph of she and dance partner Mark Ballas posing together before appearing on the entertainment show.

Katherine recently told the Daily Mail how her exhausting rehearsal regime has helped the weight drop off.

'I've lost a stone and a half,' she said. 'I'm burning so much energy now that it’s hard to put the weight back on.
