Jessica Ennis lends her gold medal to fellow Olympian Bradley Wiggins

Didn't the invite read 'bring your own medal'? Jessica Ennis lends her gold medal to fellow Olympian Bradley Wiggins

When Bradley Wiggins arrived at an adidas Olympics party last night, many were expecting to see him carrying his gold medal for his time trial cycling.
So when the cyclist realised he was the only winner in attendance not carrying his precious honour, fortunately fellow Olympian Jessica Ennis stepped in to lend hers.
Although you couldn't blame the heptathlon champion for not wanting to be parted from her medal just 48 hours after receiving it, she happily looked on as Bradley pretended it was his for a few photo opportunities.

The athletes were two of the biggest attractions at the adidas Underground party in East London last night, which featured a top secret gig by the Stones Roses.
A host of celebrities were desperate to meet the Olympians and congratulate them on their stunning performances at the games.
In a change from her usual Lycra we're used to seeing on the field, Jessica, 26, looked glam in a pair of skinny jeans, high heels and tiger-print top.
Can you tell the difference? Fortunately both medals looked the same so there was no telling Bradley wasn't holding his own

Meanwhile, Bradley, 32, and singer Paul Weller looked equally chuffed to meet each other as they chatted at the party.
The father-of-two is a well-known mod, and the Jam singer is clearly one of his musical idols.
However, as the pair posed together at the event it was Weller who appeared to be in awe of Wiggins rather than the other way round.
Wearing a smart navy blue suit, a white shirt and a skinny tie, Wiggins towered over the 54-year-old singer as he draped his arm around him.

The Jam star is clearly a huge fan of the sportsman as when Wiggins won gold at the beginning of the month, the singer's official Twitter page posted: 'Gold for @bradwiggins! Huge congratulations from all at Paul Weller HQ.'
Wiggins became the first man to win the Tour de France and Olympic gold in the same year with an imperious victory in the London 2012 time-trial.
The Belgium-born star claimed his fourth Olympic gold and seventh medal in all, surpassing Sir Steve Redgrave with a British record haul of Games medals.

But Weller didn't seem to mind and smiled for the cameras wearing smart grey trousers, brown shoes and a light-coloured jumper, and of course both men were sporting a typical mod haircut.
Wiggins was the penultimate of 37 riders to take to the course and completed the 44-kilometre route in 50 minutes 39 seconds to triumph by 42 seconds, with fellow Briton Chris Froome third in 51mins 47secs.
Other gold medallists at the bash included canoe slalom duo Tim Baillie and Etienne Scott, and silver medallists Richard Hounslow and David Florence.

The medallists were the big attraction at the party with a host of celebrities fighting for the chance to have their photos taken with the inspirational athletes.
Partygoers were treated to a special surprise performance from the Stone Roses and sipped on Absolut vodka cocktails.
Also at the party were Jimmy Page, Chris Moyles, Daisy Lowe, Rosamund Pike, Rupert Grint, Alfie Allen, John Simm, Kayvan Novak and Jaime and Lois Winstone.
