She's recovered from the whiplash! Denise Van Outen jives across the floor and ends up at the top of the Strictly Come Dancing leaderboard

Earlier on in the week she suffered a minor injury during rehearsals, but that didn't stop Denise Van Outen from owning the dance floor.
The 38-year-old managed to get herself to the top of the leaderboard on Saturday night's Strictly Come Dancing with a total score of 32, despite developing whiplash while practicing.
Dancing the Jive with her partner James Jordan, the blonde star certainly looked like she was having fun.

She showed off her slender figure in a bright red backless dress which she teamed with matching lipstick and a Fifties quiff.
Not only was Denise's partner pleased with her efforts but so were the judges.
First up on the panel to give their verdict was new judge Darcey Bussell, who said: 'Wowee, you got the style of the jive instantly,' she told her. 'It was amazing.'

This was followed by Len Goodman, who remarked: 'Tutti frutti what a booty! That was my cup of tea, it was so full on.'
However, when it came to Craig Revel Horwood's turn, Denise thought her luck had run out when he started with: 'Now for the truth darling..' but what followed was Craig's first 'Fab-u-lous' of the series.
Denise was clearly blown away by the positive feedback, and when host Tess Daly commented on the whiplash in her neck, she said: 'I cant feel the pain in my neck because of the adrenaline, but I'm sure I'll be in agony tomorrow.

Someone who hadn't suffered an injury but still failed to impress the judges was Westlife star Nicky Byrne who received a total score of 18.
The 34-year-old was celebrity to take to the dance floor his professional partner, Karen Hauer.
The blonde singer attempted to dance the Cha Cha but it didn't exactly go to plan.
Following their performance, the pair received quite negative comments from the judges, with Len saying it was 'too much boy band dancing.'

'I want to be kind but there was very little about that that I could rave about that,' he added.
Bruno Tonioli also had some criticism for the star, saying: 'Nicky you were much more switched on, yes it was a little 1995, but the problem is you lost your timing completely at the end.'
Craig decided that he wasn't going to hold back and told Nicky that it was 'like a Zumba class' but he added that he did notice he 'had some rotation in the hip department.'

Darcey was the last judge to have her say, where she told Nicky: 'There was confidence, there was attitude but sadly for me there wasn't enough Cha Cha.'
Once back upstairs and talking to Tess, Nicky appeared a little deflated and admitted himself that the routine hadn't gone well.
'I was making it up as I went along,' he told her, after explaining that he hadn't been able to hear the beat of the song at the beginning of the dance. couldn't hear the beats at the beginning.'

Following Nicky on the floor was Colin Salmon and his partner Kristina Rihanoff, who danced the Viennese Waltz together.
The 50-year-old actor looked rather dapper in a smart grey suit, while Kristina wore a lovely pink dress.
Despite being tall, Colin tried his best to use it to his advantage - which the judges picked up on.

'Nice and extended long lines,' Bruno told the James Bond star. 'But it needed more drive, more sweep, and I found it a bit not so involving.'
'I've got to agree,' Craig added afterwards. 'There was a little too much rise and fall but I think you're dancing more to your height.'
The couple managed to receive a total score of 24, and although Colin didn't look overly excited, it was certainly an improvement.

The next dance for the audience was a bit more energetic with Dani Harmer attempting the Salsa with her partner Vincent Simone.
Naturally, the actress was wearing a fiery red dress and insisted on having loads of fun, saying afterwards: 'I loved that!'
The judges did seem to agree, with Craig telling her: 'I thought the energy was fantastic,' while Darcey told her: 'It's so great to see you having fun.'

'Dani, you little munchkin,' Len started his feedback with. 'You've come out and given it some welly. You coped with the choreography and I liked it so well done.'
The Tracey Beaker actress admitted that she hadn't fell as nervous as she had during the first live show, and when she received a total score of 27, she looked really chuffed.
Another lady who wore red on the dance floor was TV presenter Fern Britton.

Darcey seemed to love it, and told Fern: 'You give us such a beautiful feeling when you dance and it's so nice to see you travelling.'
Craig added to this, saying: 'The flow around the floor was fantastic,' and the couple received a total score of 24.

However, the next couple to take to the floor didn't get such a glowing report from the panel.
Showbiz reporter Richard Arnold gave his best shot at dancing the Cha Cha in a very bright floral shirt.
His partner, Erin Boag, wore a dress that matched and as the pair had fun on the floor, they couldn't keep the smiles off their faces.
But the judges were soon bringing them back down to earth, with Bruno starting with: 'That was blissfully barmy! It was like a Vegas showgirl with a trout pout, but in a sick way I enjoyed it.'

Darcey seemed to disagree and told him: 'This is the Richard I wanted to see - relaxed and full of life.'
But Len brought things back to the negative, saying: 'Loud and proud and that's just your shirt. This is not the Richard that I wanted to see. You're a better dancer than just camping it up.'
Ever the optimist, Richard didn't let the comments get him down and was still smiling when he received a total score of 19.

The next contestant received a much better score, but she didn't exactly look pleased about it.
Victoria Pendleton found herself in tears last week after forgetting some of her routine, and although she remembered it this week, she didn't look much happier.
Having danced the Foxtrot with her partner Brendan Cole, she glided across the floor and the panel had very good things to say.

'Clean, classy and confident, a fantastic improvement,' Len told her. 'Queen Vic is back.'
This was followed by Bruno saying: 'Victoria is back in the race!'
The cyclist managed to get herself a total score of 26, but even as her fellow contestants cheered, the brunette failed to look pleased.

Victoria was followed on the floor by former cricketer Michael Vaughan, who danced the Jive with his partner Natalie Lowe, but the judges weren't overly keen.
'Oh give me the axe,' Bruno said, talking about a prop that he had used during the routine.
'You were like a wild goose, you were thrashing about and I don't think I've ever seen such bad footwork.'

'You couldn't do it worse,' Craig added. 'That has to be one of the oddest jives I've ever witnessed in the ten series. Most of the time it looked like you were busting for a wee.'
Needless to say, Michael only received a total score of 15 but he didn't let it dampen his spirits.
Darcey's favourite from last week, Louis Smith, was up next and found himself dancing the Viennese Waltz with Flavia Cacace.

'I liked it, you're calm, you're confident, but I do need to see an emotional connection between you and Flavia,' Darcey told Louis this week.
However, Len simply told him: 'That's the best dance I've seen tonight,' while Bruno added: 'You make such a lovely pair, it was like a Valentines postcard brought to life.'
Louis admitted that he had tried his best to smile more, and was certainly grinning when they received a total score of 30.

The next male on the floor was Johnny Ball who danced the Foxtrot with his partner Iveta Lukosiute.
'What you do you do with enthusiasm, Len told Johnny afterwards. 'I thought you did very well,' and the couple received a score of 20.
Sid Owen faired slightly better and managed to score 22 with his partner Ola Jordan.

The couple danced the Salsa, with the EastEnders star certainly getting into the swing of things and managing a one hand handstand.
'The timing was completely off,' Bruno began when it was time for the panel to speak. 'The performance was high but you couldn't disguise the lack of technique.'
Following the actor, was singer Kimberley Walsh and her partner Pasha Kovalev who also danced the Foxtrot.

Wearing a black backless dress and dancing to Adele's Someone Like You, the Girls Aloud star appeared to be at ease but didn't get the reaction she had received the week before.
'A beautiful mood you created, but you need to watch the gapping between the two of you,' Darcey told her. 'Maybe not the wow factor, but still a very nice Foxtrot.'
Once back upstairs and speaking to Tess, Kimberley admitted that she was 'really, really nervous' and could feel it affecting her.

The pair still managed to score 26 and the British star looked hopeful that she would remain in the show for next week's dance.
Another contestant who didn't do as well as she had the previous week, was TV star Lisa Riley.
The actress was the last to dance, and did so with her partner Robin Windsor and danced the Viennese Waltz.

Having received the highest score last week, the actress was aware that she had to do well and dance ladylike.
She seemed really pleased with her efforts afterwards, when Len told her she was 'fabulous.'
'What I love about you is that we're always getting full on entertainment,' Bruno told her. 'Sometimes you were so into it you looked like you were leading him though!'
Craig agreed saying: 'It was light, it was graceful, but it is true, the man should lead.'
Lisa and Robin still managed a score of 25 and looked chuffed with the result.
