Blondes do have more fun! Vanessa Hudgens debuts dyed 'mermaid hair' as she poses in a bikini at Coachella
She may be famous for her dark brunette locks, but Vanessa Hudgens has undergone a makeover for Coachella, embracing a hippie chic look with long blonde extensions.
The 25-year-old actress teamed her wavy new style – which she dubbed 'mermaid hair' – with a particularly bohemian oversize sun hat, daisy dukes and a huge belt made of circular links, as well as a leopard print bikini top.
She posted on Instagram: 'Mermaid hair!!!! A big thank you to @ninezeroone and @greatlengthsusa #blondesdohavemorefun =) can't believe @riawnacapri made me this blonde!!!'

Vanessa's sister, Stella, also got into the spirit of the music festival, held in Indio, California, with her look, as she appeared in another photo next to her sister wearing a bright floral print dress with a chain of yellow flowers atop her hair.
Spring Breakers star Vanessa has been talking up the festival since January, when she said it was her 'main event of the year' but the clean living star's trip is proving controversial after it emerged she is reportedly being paid $15,000 to attend by fast food giant McDonald's.
Fans can now expect the starlet to share a product-placement selfie for the burger joint alongside boyfriend, Carrie Diaries hunk Austin Butler.

Vanessa isn't the only one debuting a dramatic change of hair colour at the music spectacular – which saw OutKast appear last night, and will be headlined by Muse and Arcade Fire respectively today and tomorrow – after Katy Perry dyed her hair 'slime green' ahead of it.
She posted a photo from the festival posing in fancy dress, wearing a silver sparkly, homemade looking top featuring a large eye and a skirt in the same material depicting an open mouth.
She was accompanied by three friends, one of whom echoed Katy's mouth design on her top, and another who depicted a devil on hers.

The fourth member of the group also wore a sparkling design, emblazoned with 'Hell Yes'.

Meanwhile, Emma Roberts got a late start to the event today, posting a photo with friends as they appeared to be heading into the arena. She had earlier shared a photo from a pool party held by fashion company Lacoste.

For those who are interested in the music, rap duo OutKast headline the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, ending a half-decade hiatus for one of hip-hop's most popular and important acts.

They haven't released an album as OutKast since 2006's Idlewild, a soundtrack.
Other acts scheduled include Pharrell Williams, Beck, Queens of the Stone Age and Lorde. The reunited The Replacements will also appear.
