Carrie Fisher sizzles in iconic gold bikini from Star Wars' Return of the Jedi in vintage shots from racy Rolling Stone shoot

Youthful Carrie Fisher sizzles in iconic gold bikini from Star Wars' Return of the Jedi in vintage shots from racy Rolling Stone shoot

She was the ultimate pin-up for any Star Wars fan when the franchise began in 1977.
And the resurfacing of Carrie Fisher's 1983 photoshoot for Rolling Stone, which sees her dressed in the now iconic gold bikini her character Princess Leia was forced to wear by the villainous Jabba the Hutt, is sure to send the pulses of her fan's racing once more.
The vintage shots see a 27-year-old Fisher cavort in some raucous waves while showcasing her enviable figure in the same metal bikini she sported in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.

Playing up to the camera, the shots see a youthful Carrie splash around in the water of California's Golden Gate National Recreation Area in her skimpy two-piece.

Her long brunette locks are tied into the same voluminous braid she models in the sci-fi blockbuster, which cascade elegantly down one side of her beautiful face.
Other playful images from the shoot see the starlet - who makes her Star Wars comeback after 32 years in the franchise's latest picture, The Force Awakens - getting cosy with Princess Leia's villainous father Darth Vader.

Making light of the abhorrent relationship they share in the movie, one still shows Carrie leap into his arms with a beaming smile on her face.
But while the screen siren might look like a golden goddess in her metallic ensemble, the actress revealed in an interview around the time of Return of the Jedi's release that she felt like anything but.
Speaking about the discomfort she had to endure when wearing her racy slave's costume, she quipped: 'This was no bikini. It was metal. It didn’t go where you went. After the shots, the prop man would have to check me. He’d say, "Okay tits are fine. Let’s go." So I started checking for any bounce or slip after takes.

'Then it was, "Cut. Hey, how they doin’, hooters in place? Tits all right?" I was embarrassed at first with a hundred guys going crazy over my revealed self. Dignity was out of the question.'
But while posters of Carrie as Princess Leia were no doubt a fixture on the bedroom wall of Star Wars fans the world over during the height of her fame, some comments on her physical appearance in Star Wars' latest picture have been less then commendable.
After being criticised by some online trolls for her inevitable aging, she fired back on Twitter: 'Please stop debating about whether or not I have aged well. Unfortunately it hurts all 3 of my feelings.'
She added: 'My body hasn't aged as well as I have. Blow us'.
