Lupita Nyong'o was a shining star at the premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens on Monday evening.

The 32-year-old looked exquisite in a long-sleeve and metallic floorlength gown that without a doubt turned heads at the star-studded red carpet event in Hollywood.

But the Oscar winner's modest number also managed to flash the flesh, thanks to strategically placed cut-outs that exposed her slender waistline and toned back.

The eye-catching dress hugged her flat stomach with a satin black ribbon tied around her waistline, which also served to protect her modesty.

As for her makeup, Lupita spellbound with glossy bright red lips, shimmering silver eye shadow and a cat eye slick of eyeliner, adding a vintage vibe to her flawless makeup.

Further glamming up the shimmering look were her ornate and silver teardrop earrings.

The 12 Years A Slave star was unable to contain her smile as she posed up a storm throughout the lavish red carpet, proving she was absolutely thrilled to see the latest installment in the hotly anticipated sci-fi franchise.

In Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Lupita plays Maz Kanata opposite co-stars Daisy Ridley, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, John Boyega, and Adam Driver.

J.J. Abrams directs the film, which has been described as a landmark cinematic event.

He told the LA Times that while he felt an enormous amount of pressure for the film to be successful, he could deal with it.

'It’s like I'm standing at the doorway of the airplane door and we’re about to open the door,' he said. 'Do I hope the parachute opens? Yes.

'But every time I feel remotely paralysed by the noise or anticipation or expectation of it, I just look at the work I’ve seen done and I’m just grateful.'

Star Wars: The Force Awakens lands in theatres on Friday.
