Ben Affleck reveals children's scribbles all over his hands as he accepts top gongs for Argo at Critics' Choice Awards
His suit was bespoke, his shoes shined and hair carefully styled.
But Ben Affleck had forgotten on little detail as he prepared for the Critics' Choice Movie Awards - to wash his hands.
The Argo star kept them stuffed in his trouser pockets as he strolled down the red carpet. But he had to take them out as he accepted gongs for Best Director and Best Film - revealing children's scribbles all over his fingers.

Good luck charms: Ben, who won the Critics' Choice Best Director Award, clutched his prize while flashing some interesting artwork on his hands
What's in your pockets? Ben Affleck was keeping his doodle hands hidden from view when he first arrived to the Critics' Choice Awards on Thursday
They were presumably doodles by of his adorable daughters, Violet, seven, and four-year-old Seraphina.
The drawings were indecipherable, although it could be argued that one was a single stemmed flower.
Nevertheless the bearded Ben looked handsome and well put together in a black designer suit, white shirt and dark tie, along with shiny black dress shoes.
Flower power: Ben's doodles were most likely drawn by his adorable daughters, Violet, seven, and four-year-old Seraphina
Ben made no mention of his oddly fascinating good luck charms as he made his thank you speech, but he did poke fun at his Oscar snub.
Argo garnered seven nominations, including one for Best Picture, but none for Ben.
'I would like to thank the Academy. I'm kidding, I'm kidding.
'This is the one that counts. No, I do want to thank the Broadcast Film Critics Association.
'It is very, very cool for me. There was a time when the Ben Affleck's Critics' Award was a Saturday Night Live sketch,' the actor-director said.
No explanation? Ben poked fun at his Oscar snub while accepting his Critics' Choice Award, but made no mention of his artsy hand work
Debonair: Ben wowed the red carpet wearing a designer black suit, white shirt and tie, and shiny black shoes
'This is about Tony Mendez, who did this actual, real thing,' Ben said of the guy he played in Argo.
'He was in the CIA, he won the intelligence star, he's an American hero. He's emblematic of the men and women who serve in our clandestine service and the men and women who are in our foreign service, both of whom make tremendous sacrifice day in and day out.'
As if Ben wasn't already having an amazing evening at the star-studded event, Argo also won a Critics' Choice Award for Best Picture.

Hot table: Ben sat next to a handsomely decked out George Clooney at the event, which took place at Santa Monica's Barker Hangar
Drum roll! Ben not only won the Best Director Award, but Argo also won Critics' Choice Best Picture
Congrats! Bradley Cooper stopped by to give his well wishes to the Argo star, and did he notice Ben's handy penmanship too?
Ben, who was seated next to George Clooney, enjoyed the view of the whole room from his table.
A few movie star friends relayed their congratulations to Ben including Silver Linings Playbook star Bradley Cooper.
The two actors - who co-starred in the 2009 romantic comedy He's Just Not That Into You - shared a big man hug and chatted amicably, and perhaps Bradley even hinted of being in Ben's next movie.
Bradley also remarked on Thursday night that the Academy overlooked Ben in the Best Director category, which may have helped his chances.
