Snake skinned stunner: Bella Heathcote dons a python print Gucci dress in a photo shoot for the latest issue of V Magazine
Despite having the looks of a model and being picked from obscurity to star opposite Johnny Depp - who she says is 'really generous, he’s really normal, and he doesn’t have any pretensions' - in blockbuster Dark Shadows, Bella reveals in Spring Issue of V Magazine that her first red carpet experience at the May Cannes Film Festival was far from perfect.
Humiliating: Bella relives her first big red carpet moment, pictured here, 'the photographers wanted me to get the hell out of the way because they wanted pictures of the famous people'
'The Gucci people didn’t want me to move off the carpet because they wanted a shot of the dress, but the photographers wanted me to get the hell out of the way because they wanted pictures of the famous people,' the Australian actress tells V Magazine, which is due out Thursday.
'It was hysterical and humiliating, which is how I think it should be.'
The actress must have done something right as now she is hounded on Hollywood's red carpets and is Gucci's darling wearing many of their runway dresses to events across the globe.
The fashion house even dressed the star for the magazine shoot.
Photographed in Los Angeles, California, in November, Bella donned a Gucci python print dress from the designer's Spring 2013 collection.
With her hair out and eyelash skimming bangs, Bella's eyes became the focus of the shoot thanks to a smokey eye unfussy make up look.
Bella may have got some red carpet practice in over the last year but she is still getting used to having all eyes on her.
When she stepped out from the London premiere of Dark Shadows - this time wearing a Pucci minidress - seeing herself on the jumbo-vision screen was almost too much for her.

'I felt like I was in Hunger Games. It was surreal and so full on, and I was in a state of shock,' she told the magazine.
'And then I had a drink. Remember, I’m Australian.'
Having a cheeky beer or two is what being Aussie is all about, the star revealed - 'We like to drink'.
The young actress got her start on Australian television on soap Neighbours before winning the Australians In Film Heath Ledger Scholarship which as $10,000 and a round-trip ticket from Sydney to Los Angeles: 'But, luckily I never had to use the return leg.'

Bella's television start saw her play the bad girl bully.
'That was a good learning experience. It’s a soap opera, so it’s a pace I’d never seen. One take, two takes if you’re lucky. They churn it out.
'That’s a tip: if you’re going to be on a soap opera, be the baddie. It was hilarious.'
Being the TV bully is a far cry from her latest role in Not Fade Away - which she filmed before Dark Shadows but is only being released this month.
Really normal: Bella, pictured here at the Hollywood premiere of Dark Shadows, says co-star Johnny Depp is a nice guy with a 'dark sense of humor'
Set in the 1960s, and Bella plays the high school footballer's pretty, popular girlfriend, Grace, who lives in a New Jersey but has her life altered after she falls for the moody, broody rocker.
It was the first character and script the actress really loved when she moved to Hollywood.
'I was drawn to her humanity, she has real reactions to real things.
'This was the first script that stood out, and kept getting better and better with every read. It was a part I really wanted.'
Full circle: Bella's latest film Not Fade Away was filmed before Dark Shadows when she first arrived in Los Angeles but is only being released this month
