Michelle Dockery is in one of this year's toughest categories - Best Actress in a TV Series Drama.
However, if she does go home empty-handed at Sunday's ceremony, she at least has the chance to winning one of the best dressed.
The English actress was roundly praised by red carpet fashion critics for her stunning gold and white dresses as she arrived at the star-studded event in Los Angeles.

The 31-year-old brunette, who plays Lady Mary Crawley in the hit period drama, showed off a sleek silhouette in a creation by Paris-based designer Alexandre Vauthier.
She teamed the gown with a a gold bracelet and an emerald ring, with her short hair styled in loose waves.
Dockery is up for Best Actress in a TV Series Drama alongside Connie Britton (Nashville), Glenn Close (Damages), Claire Danes (Homeland) and Julianna Margulies (The Good Wife).

Last year, Claire picked up the award for her performance as Carrie Mathison in Homeland.
As well as Michelle's category, Downton is also up for Best TV Series Drama, with Dame Maggie Smith winning Best Supporting Actress.
Also representing the Brits at the ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel is Claire's husband Hugh Dancy, who looked dapper in a black suit.
Complementing each other in matching black were Brit movie power couple Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz.

The Constant Gardener star wore a Louis Vuitton layered dress, which she teamed with a pair of Jimmy Choo 'Raven' sandals and Candy clutch.
New mother Sienna Miller, who gave birth to daughter Marlowe in July, went for flower power in an Erdem gown in white decorated with pink, red and blue flowers.

Supermodel Rosie Huntington-Whiteley showed some side-boob in a dramatic black Yves Saint Laurent dress as she arrived with actor boyfriend Jason Statham.
Other Brit stars included actress Emily Mortimer, who wore a silver Jenny Packham maxi dress.
TV personality Kelly Osbourne was there in her role as a E! Fashion Police pundit, wearing a green mermaid gown.
