As if Taylor Swift hadn't had a tough enough week.
Newly single and braving her first red carpet event post the end of her relationship with One Direction star Harry Styles, Taylor was Kanye-d onstage at The People's Choice Awards by host Olivia Munn.
In hilarious scenes brunette Olivia refused to hand over Taylor's Favorite Country Artist award, saying it was awkward that the blonde had won.

But showing some plucky courage Taylor, who was wearing a plunging white gown, managed to keep up with the joke, saying to Olivia: 'This always happens to me... God!'
    In 2009 rapper Kanye West stormed the stage of the MTV Video Music Awards, interrupting Taylor's big moment, and the term Kanye-d was born.
    This time however Taylor, who seems to have learned from past experiences, managed to get her claws on the award, before making an passionate winner's speech.

    She said: 'I want to thank the fans because this is a fan voted award and I absolutely love you with all of my heart. I want to thank radio and I want to thank the fans for calling radio and being like, "Play her music" — thank you for doing that. 
    'You guys have blown my mind with what you’ve done for this album Red and I just want to thank you for caring about my music and for caring about me. Thank you so much you guys, I love you.'
    Although the awkward moments kept piling up for Taylor, who had gone all out for the evening with a sweeping updo and long white gown, as she left the stage to One Direction's hit Live While We're Young.

    Katy Perry took home four trophies this year, including favorite female artist and a surprise win for favorite pop artist over Justin Bieber.
    Fan favorite Taylor beat out Tim McGraw, Jason Aldean, Blake Shelton and Carrie Underwood for favorite country artist.
    Her chart-topping album 'Red,' which the singer based on her experiences, was one of 2012's top-sellers.

    British boy band The Wanted won favorite breakout artist.
    In the television categories, CBS comedy 'The Big Bang Theory' was named favorite network comedy, while ABC's 'Grey's Anatomy' picked up favorite network drama.

    Ellen Pompeo of 'Grey's Anatomy' and 'Castle' actor Nathan Fillion won the favorite TV dramatic actress and actor awards, while 'Glee' stars Lea Michele and Chris Colfer picked up the favorite TV comedic actress and actor awards.
    Sandra Bullock was named favorite humanitarian for her efforts in helping victims of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans.
