Oscars 2013: The redheads have it! Nominees Jessica Chastain and Amy Adams lead the glamour on Academy Awards red carpet

The toast of Tinseltown invaded the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles for the biggest event of the showbiz year as The Oscars kicked off on Sunday.
Jessica Chastain is hoping to take home the Best Actress trophy for Zero Dark Thirty, but she will certainly be named one of the best dressed stars of the evening.
The gorgeous 35-year-old looked elegant and ethereal in her sequined Armani Prive nude gown which showed off her slim figure as she made a grand entrance, with her fiery hair in soft waves.

'It's very Happy Birthday Mr President,' she laughed of her decision to pay homage to old Hollywood as she chatted to E!'s Ryan Seacrest.
Her fellow redhead and Oscar nominee Amy Adams was equally striking on the red carpet as she arrived in a powder blue princess dress by Oscar de la Renta.
Fashion Police hosts Giuliana Rancic and Kelly Osbourne were covering the star-studded red carpet, so made sure they looked their best without detracting from the actors.
Both TV presenters picked black gowns, with Giuliana creating curves in a strapless Rafael Cennamo dress while Kelly chose a flowing number by Tony Ward with diamante and sheer detailing.

Giuliana had lopped off her famously long locks into a shorter and edgier style, claiming she had woken up that morning with the sudden urge to go for the chop.
Kristin Chenoweth looked like a princess in her fairytale inspired gown, also designed by Tony Ward, which boasted sparkling silver detailing. She also wore Simon G jewellery.
The actress and singer was seen shaking hands with Kelly Rowland as they ran into each other on the red carpet.
While most stars opted for pretty gowns, Kelly brought some sex appeal in her Donna Karan Atelier dress, which had a sweetheart cut white bodice and black skirt with a saucy split up one side.

Maria Menounos also decided to turn heads and ensured she stood out in her shocking pink Romona Keveza dress which clung to her enviable figure thanks to its fishtail cut.
Although Ben Affleck was shockingly snubbed by the Academy for a Best Director nod, his movie Argo still looks set to take home the most coveted gong of the evening in the form of Best Picture.
Other films vying for Best Picture are Beasts of the Southern Wild, Silver Linings Playbook, Zero Dark Thirty, Lincoln, Les Miserables, Life of Pi, Amour and Django Unchained.
Jennifer Lawrence, Jessica Chastain, Naomi Watts, Emmanuelle Riva and Quvenzhane Wallis will compete for Best Actress.

If Emmanuelle takes home the trophy, she will be the oldest winner in history. The Amour star is celebrating her 86th birthday at the ceremony.
Meanwhile a win for Quvenzhane for Beasts of the Southern Wild would place her as the youngest winning actor ever at just nine years old.
Daniel Day-Lewis looks likely to be awarded the Best Actor prize for his role in Lincoln, but faces competition from Bradley Cooper, Hugh Jackman, Denzel Washington and Joaquin Phoenix.
The event is being hosted by Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane, whose movie Ted is up for the Music (Original Song) award for Everybody Needs a Best Friend.
