That’s a bit racy for church! Anna Friel puts on a leggy show in sexy LBD as she films provocative new series The Vatican

For her latest role in Ridley Scott’s new series The Vatican she is playing the sister of a cardinal.
But judging by Anna Friel’s attire as she filmed the pilot episode in Rome she certainly isn’t playing a woman of the cloth.
The actress was spotted wearing a tiny black dress and a pair of sky high heels as she made her way along the cobbles outside a church.

With ladders in her tights and a leather jacket on the 36-year-old looked far from appropriately dressed to be outside the house of worship.
Her hair which is usually sleeked and styled was worn in a much more wild fashion, perhaps reflecting her personality.
The Pushing Daises star plays Kayla Duffy, who is the younger sister of Cardinal Thomas Duffy in the thriller about spirituality, power and politics.
Is that appropriate? Anna's stockings could be seen beneath her black dress as she stood outside the church filming
While her brother is part of the Catholic church, her character is rather different as she plays a party girl from New York.
It is thought that in the series the brother and sister are close however at times her behaviour does result in trouble for him.
Details of the storyline have been closely guarded but Showtime said in a previous statement that it would focus on 'spirituality, power and politics' and is 'set against the modern-day political machinations within the Catholic church.'

The statement went on to say: 'The series will explore the relationships and rivalries as well as the mysteries and miracles behind one of the world's most hidden institutions.'
Other cast members include Kyle Chandler, Matthew Goode and Sebastian Koch.
The hour long pilot has been written by two-time Oscar nominee Paul Attanasio, who was a producer on Hugh Laurie's TV show House, while Sir Ridley Scott is directing for the first time for TV.

Filming is expected to last for six weeks and production has taken place in Rome to give as realistic an effect as possible.
Keeping things authentic has come at a price and Alien and Blade Runner director Scott has reportedly spent a whopping 50,000 Euros per day to film in the Italian capital with filming taking place around the Vatican City.
Anna, who appeared on Alan Carr’s Chatty Man on Friday evening, revealed that her father tried to stop her taking a part in her latest film The Look Of Love following an embarrassing incident.

'Is it true that your Dad tried to stop you taking the part because you sent him something you shouldn’t have?' Alan cheekily asked.
The Land Girls star explained that she'd collected some photos of Jean while researching the role and emailed them to her father, unaware that she'd also attached a porn shoot.
'I said ‘oh I’ll send you the pictures of what I’m going to look like Dad’, but I didn’t realise that the porn shoot that she does was an attachment to the email,' she admitted.
'He was like ‘ look Anna, I know you’ve taken your clothes off and you’re very open and stuff, but I think you’re going a wee bit too far on this one’. He’s like ‘my God, you can see everything. You’re not going to do that?,'' she added.
