A lot can go wrong when you mix tanning oil and a tiny bikini, just ask Eva Longoria.

The Desperate Housewives actress accidentally revealed bit more than she should have as her bikini top fell down, exposing her nipple.

It's a second dose of embarrassment this year for the 38-year old actress who suffered a similar wardrobe malfunction at a Golden Globes party in January when her dress gaped open.

Eva was happy to let it all hang out as she relaxed on the beach wearing a neon orange bikini and was clearly keen to make the most of her short trip to Puerto Rico.

She relaxed on a sunlounger, swam in the sea, and took a stroll along the picture perfect white sands.

The actress, whose show Desperate Housewives was cancelled last year, took plenty of time to slather herself in tanning oil, paying particular attention to her legs as she reclined in the sun.

The brunette arrived on the Caribbean island for the wedding of celebrity stylist and self-proclaimed 'Miami IT girl' Amber Ridinger.

On Saturday she tweeted that she had already encountered some local residents as soon as she got to the idyllic locale: 'Just landed in Puerto Rico and all of the coqui's are singing!'

Coquis are small frogs with a loud croak that are indigenous to Puerto Rico, and single Eva might secretly be hoping that after kissing a lot of frogs, she will soon be meeting her prince.

Eva hasn't had much luck in the romance department, splitting from her most recent beau in October last year.

Last month Eva, who was previously married to NBA star Tony Parker, split from New York Jets star Mark Sanchez, 25, after two months of dating.

Sanchez's representative said in a statement : 'Mark adores and respects Eva. It really was about scheduling more than anything else. They will remain close friends.'

She was previously in an on-off relationship with Penelope Cruz's brother Eduardo, but they called time on their romance in the summer.

But, she's putting her experience of the good and bad side of romance to good use by signing up to be the executive producer of a new dating show.

Her new series Ready for Love premieres on NBC on April 9th and will follow three bachelors as they try and reinvigorate their love lives with the help of a panel of experts.

Eva might have wished that some of the show's experts had helped her find a date for the luxurious wedding, which took place at the five star Ritz Carlton Dorado Beach.

As she spent some time alone on the beach, her expressions ranged from serene to deep in thought, and when she lay on a sun lounger she looked undeniably sad.

Eva celebrated her birthday just a few weeks ago, so maybe she had a case of age-related blues.

At least she had a night of fun at the wedding to look forward to, and she tweeted how much fun she was having with Khloe Kardashian and reality star LaLa.

'Having so much fun at Amber's wedding with @KhloeKardashian and @lala in Puerto Rico!' [sic] she tweeted.

Eva, LaLa and Khloe know each other from the basketball wives social circuit, so probably had lots of gossip to catch up on as they sipped on drinks at the wedding reception.

As well as filling the girls in with what's going on with her new dating show, she could also tell them about her other ventures.

She recently appeared on the Tonight Show With Jay Leno, and brought him up to speed with her philanthropy on farms in Guatamala with multi-billionaire Warren Buffet's son Howard, and how she endorses the indoor skydiving ride at the nearby Universal Studios.

Eva is also somewhat of a political activist, and she was a guest speaker at last year's Democratic National Convention.
