Simon Cowell is left gobsmacked by 11-year-old singing sensation in Britain’s Got Talent

‘OMG. That wasn’t you singing was it?’: Simon Cowell is left gobsmacked by 11-year-old singing sensation as new series of Britain’s Got Talent kicks off

He’s the man who has something to say about everything and it’s usually pretty sarcastic.
But on Saturday evening Simon Cowell was finally silenced by an eleven-year-old girl with a very big singing voice during the first episode of Britain’s Got Talent.
The music mogul was left stunned by Arixsandra Libantino with her outstanding performance of Jennifer Hudson’s One Night Only, which won her a place in the next stage of the show no questions asked.

The school girl from Nottingham defied her nerves and instantly won over the audience just by her appearance.
Dressed in a pretty pink dress, with shoes which were ever so slightly too big for her, she raised a number of ‘awws’ from not just the crowd but Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon.
As she began to sing an incredible mature voice came out of her mouth, leaving the judges gobsmacked.
When she reached the chorus, the audience erupted as she demonstrated her incredible vocal strength.
Mature: Arixsandra took on a Jennifer Hudson which many adults would struggle to sing

Simon meanwhile looked very deep in thought as she continued to wow the audience with an incredibly mature performance which received a standing ovation.
She didn't just get a standing ovation from the audience, the judges were also all on their feet.
Simon declared: 'O.M.G. That wasn’t you singing was it? That really was you? Well then you’re super human. You know, it’s one of the best auditions we’ve had so far.'
Humble: After receiving four yes's from the judges, the little girl remained polite and composed

The polite little girl giggled and said 'thank you so much' while Amanda told her: 'You did literally lift the roof off this building. It was absolutely incredible.'
David added:' I think this is the clip they’ll show in 10 years’ time when you’re the biggest star in the world. Like bigger than Beyonce or something. You completely owned it.'
Alesha rounded up the comments and said: 'The judges have said it all. You have a gift and thank you for sharing it with us today. You’re amazing,'

After getting four yeses from the judges she walked off stage into the arms of her mother and father.
As the show began the judges reflected on the show starting and looked ahead to the upcoming series with Amanda who said: 'It’s amazing, it’s my seventh year. I can’t wait.'
Rearing to go Alesha added: 'Brand new series, who knows what to expect. That is the beauty of Britain’s Got Talent, you just never know.'
Pretty in pink: The little girl was princess like in a gorgeous pink dress

Being serious for a change David said: 'Today some people’s lives are going to be changed forever. So, we hold someone’s fate in our hands.'
While Simon shared: 'When you’re sitting in the auditions, you’re praying that someone’s going to be incredible and then you can remember the moment you found that star.'
First up on stage is 2’s Country, a mother and daughter country singing duo made up of Dawn, 48, and Cindy, 71, from Essex.

Dressed in cowboy hats the women appeared relatively relaxed as they made their way onto the stage.
However while they may have looked the part, their song was terribly slow and out of tune.
Simon buzzed, closely followed by Alesha, David and then Amanda, while the mother looked at her daughter and said 'that went well.'

Simon: 'If I’m honest with you girls it was a bit lifeless, and it was like you were half asleep.'
Alesha agreed with Amanda saying it was boring: 'I agree. I love the fact that you’re mother and daughter but it felt really dreary; I mean I think I actually thought about what I was going to have for lunch.'
Being contrary David said: 'I thought it was really sexy'
Patrick the pastor: The judges and audience were surprised by the performance from this conductor

The unsuccessful duo were followed by Taichi Imanishi, a 25 year old administrator from Middlesex.
In between doing very bizarre things, including chucking water over his head, he sang a song about constipation.
When he finished Simon declared: 'Do you know what Tai, I genuinely don’t think anyone could do a worse act than what I’ve just seen.'
Peekaboo: Patrick's choir popped up around the venue to the delight of those in the audience

David chipped in: 'I think you’re more suited for The Voice.' And for once Simon agreed with him and said: 'He’s got a point'
The bizarre act was followed by something even stranger - Eshanul Haque Chy- a 22-year-old student and part time waiter.
Dressed in military attire he refused to speak and just barked, until his animal impressionist act came to and end and he said:  'That's all I've got.'
Bad sport: One wannabee comedian leaves the stage in a huff after he is booed off

Swiftly getting him of the stage Simon said: 'Ok, I think you’re barking mad.'
Next up came a gentleman called Patrick, a pastor, who came on stage and declared he was a gospel choir, to which Simon quipped: 'Did you eat them?'
Joking around with him David asked: 'Do you  think  you could save Simon's soul or is he going straight to hell?'

Snapping back, Simon told him: 'Well you'll be driving the bus love.'
Then it was time for Gospel Singers Incognito, who are from London and Luton and are between the ages of 17-43.
Singers popped up in the audience on one side and then the other, while Simon looked gob smacked.

Strange things: As per usual there were a few bizarre acts in the show including a man dancing with a vicar

Eventually the choir made their way onto the stage, to continue their song, much to the delight of the judges.
As they came to an end, the audience were all up on their feet cheering, whooping and whistling.
Back stage Dec said. 'That was like hairs on the back of your neck business.'
Let's dance: The show featured a number of dance acts

When it came to the judges Alesha said: 'That was incredible, my heart is still pounding. It was moving as well, I wouldn’t have changed anything about it. It was just perfect. Beautiful.'
Amanda agreed adding: 'Oh my goodness. That was just so powerful and soulful and heart wrenching.'
As Patrick started to cry David said:  'It was so good it made me want to go to church. So powerful, so moving.'

Simon: 'Guys I thought you were absolutely fantastic. Seriously fantastic. I’ve got to tell you, one of the best choirs we’ve had on the show, if not the best.'
Simon broke the good news to them: 'Praise the lord it's four yeses'
A lot of acts this year are comedy ones, and a montage begun with Colin Smith – 58 year old mental health clerk from Kent. Comedian and dog impersonator.
Awkward: Simon was forced to sit on stage while David and a dancer gave him a lap dance

David: 'I think I need to put this dog out of its misery. It’s a no.'
Things didn't get any better when Paul Stark , 21 -year-old student and shop assistant from Preston, who wants to be a stand- up comedian, came onto the stage.
After just one joke, Alesha slammed down on her buzzer, shortly followed by Simon.
The audience began to boo, making Paul angry, he said: 'I'm better than you lot anyway.'
Simon bluntly told him: 'Look Paul, let me make this easy for you. Those jokes were some of the worst I’ve ever heard.'

As the crowd continued to shout off, off, off, the moody wannabe shouted: 'Shut up, what's the matter with you, seriously.'

Finally came Jack Carroll, a 14 year old stand-up comedian, who was born with Cerebral Palsy, and uses a walking frame.
He uses his Cerebral Palsy in his act because  'in comedy a lot of times, your weaknesses are your strengths'.
Before hitting the stage the amusing youngster said : 'I’m never going to be Usain Bolt. But maybe I can focus on my strengths, which is to bring joy to the world.'
Love story: The shadow dancers performed a very moving love story

After his performance the audience and all of the judges gave him a standing ovation.
David kicked off the praise and said: 'Jack you are a comedy genius. I wasn’t as funny as you at 14, I’m not even as funny now as you are now at 14 years old. It was incredible. Every joke was a winner.'
Alesha added :'Jack you made me laugh before the act even started.'
While Amanda declared :'Jack, the thing that’s great is that nobody feels sorry for you. You’re self-deprecating, you’re hilarious and I think you’ve got a huge future.'
Upset: Amanda Holden broke down in tears as she watched the dance act

Being ever so humble Jack quietly just said thank you over and over again.
Then the big man himself Simon was equally full of praise : 'I’ve got to tell you Jack, you’ve got one of the most refreshing attitudes. You made fun of what you’ve gone through and you made it funny, which is really, really difficult. You’ve just a got an incredible personality. And I’m really happy that I met you.'
Unsurprisingly he got four yeses from the judges.
Auditions then headed to Manchester, where they were not joined by Simon, who was unwell.

But the show must go on and it kicked off with Sia Lord, a 21-year-old dental student from Sheffield, who did a bizarre ‘lyrical hip hop dance’ followed Viva Elvis, a Latin dance group aged 16 and under from Preston.
David then moved over into Simon's seat and jjoked around: 'I just want to see what it’s like… ‘Hello I’m Simon Cowell. I didn’t like it’ (buzz)… Sinitta, what are you doing”. (Looks under desk)
After his naughty comment, he asked: 'Don’t show him the tapes please.'
The funny sequence was followed by Martin Healy, a 57-year-old surveyor from Leeds dressed as a vicar.
His act involved him dancing with a home-made broom, which prompted Ant and Dec backstage to joke: 'It’s a shame because Simon would have loved this act.'

David stared off the comments and said: 'It was fun, and it was lovely to meet you, but it’s a no.'
Amanda concluded:'I think you should try stand up' but then she said 'Farther Martin, I am going to bless you with a yes.'

As he left the stage David turned to his fellow judges and said:'Simon wouldn’t have liked that. I think maybe people are getting through who wouldn’t get through if he was here. We may have united against him.'
But then Simon returned and didn't seem to happy to find out who the judges at put through without him.
Following a montage of various acts came Kerri Graham, a 43-year-old choreographer and fitness instructor for chair dancing, from Thurrock.
Expressive: One act did a very bizarre interpretive dance which surprised the judges

As she told the judges what she is about to do the judges look a bit crestfallen but wish her good luck
Simon doesn't give her a chance and  buzzes immediately but after a a few moments she stripped off from her dowdy clothes, into a tiny pair of shirts, much to Simon's delight.
When her act came to a close, she got a standing ovation form Simon who cheekily said: 'I’d like to remove my X”.
Impressed: Alice Fredenham really impressed the judges and crowd with her sultry voice

But things got even more cheeky when David said: 'I just sort of thought, wouldn’t it be great to see Simon sat on the chair and you doing the dance thing.'
Despite resistance from Simon, David manages to coax him onto the stage, for the first time in seven years.
This results in Simon having to endure David and Kerri dancing around him.And it seems getting Simon involved worked for her and she got four yeses.
Touching: Alice was unaware how good a singer she was

The bromance theme continued with James Heany  a 26 year old bus driver from Cheltenham, who performed  a musical comedy song about being in love with David.
Not surprisingly it gets a buzz from Simon straight away but when it finished David ran onto the stage and embraced James.
The next segment on the show featured those from around the world who had travelled to take part in the show.
After an unsuccessful opera singer and accordion singer the bad run was ended with Attraction, nice Shadow dancers from Hungary, who work as full time entertainers.
Emotional: Amanda was her usual emotional self and welled up at various points

The group managed to reduce Amanda to tears with the story they told through the movement of their bodies, which before hand they described as: 'It is a love story, an emotional story and a true story.'
After the incredible performance the group received standing ovation, and there was barely a dry eye in the audience.
Simon:' Wow. That was quite something.'
Amanda: 'My goodness. I actually can’t speak. I found that just so emotional and touching. You just made me really think about everything. It was amazing.'
Alesha: 'That was so beautiful, just so poignant and emotional. I kind of forgot that we were here and you just drew me in completely. It was fantastic. Loved it.'

David :'Guys it was absolutely faultless.'
Simon: 'Guys I just want to say thank you actually for coming over to enter this competition. I’m always very flattered when people from other countries want to compete on this show and it is one of the best acts I’ve ever seen in terms of originality and it was very touching.'
Still overcome with emotion all of the judges say yes to the outstanding act.
The final section of the show began with Hayley May, a 28-year-old legal administrator from Islington.
Unfortunately  for the singer, nerves got the better of her and she forgets the lyrics to her song, which left Amanda saying: 'Nerves got the better of you so I’m sorry, I’m going to say no.'
Then came Alice Fredenham, a 28-year-old beauty therapist from Hertfordshire, who revealed she has been secretly singing since she was young.
Jokers: Ant and Dec were their usual jovial selves as they supported acts behind the stage

It is clear that she has difficulty with stage fright and nerves and can't keep still on stage, wringing her hands together.
However as she opened her mouth to sing, an incredible and smooth voice came out.
A she finished Simon said: 'Wow. Oh My God. This is what I have been waiting for. You voice is like liquid gold. You have such an authentically beautiful voice. You look amazing. You know, you could sing the phone book. I absolutely love you and I love your voice and I also love the fact that you don’t even know how good you are. Wow.'

As Alice broke down in tears, Amanda said: 'I have to say that was the most mesmerizing, sultry, sexy performance and I fell in love with you.'
David questioned her: 'Alice why are you crying? When you sing you’re like a goddess. It’s incredible. It was world class.'
Alesha agreed: 'It was simply beautiful so you’ve let no one down.'
Simon concluded and said :'I want to remember this name. The day I met Alice Fredenham because I think you’re so special. This is the easiest yes I’ve given throughout the whole competition.'
