Nathalie is still pinching herself after landing a role in season three of Game of Thrones, the hit Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning fantasy series, whose cast reads like a roll call of UK acting talent (Charles Dance, Lena Headey, Iain Glen and, new to the show, Diana Rigg, Tara Fitzgerald, Mackenzie Crook).
She plays slave Missandei, a linguist and translator, and shot her scenes last year in Morocco with fellow Brit rising star Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys Targaryen.
Until now, the 24-year-old from Southend-on-Sea has been best known for her three years as Sasha Valentine on Channel 4’s Hollyoaks. ‘I didn’t go to drama school so I feel like I did all my growing up on Hollyoaks,’ she says.
Now that her risk of leaving a solid acting gig has paid off, all this starlet has to worry about is how to deal with the global recognition that comes with a TV juggernaut. She attended the Golden Globes parties in January and graced the red carpet in a customised embellished dress by British fashion label Little Mistress (she is currently the face of its Gold collection).
