Jones takes bronze in the slopestyle to give Britain their first EVER medal on snow

Jenny Jones made history in the newest of Olympic sports by claiming the snowboard slopestyle bronze medal on Sunday.
The 33-year-old from Bristol managed what no Britain had achieved in 90 years of Winter Olympics going back to the Chamonix Games of 1924 – winning a medal on snow.
She had to endure an agonising 20-minute wait after finishing her second and final run while 10 of her rivals took to the slopes in their attempts to beat her score.

She was toppled off gold-medal spot by Ennu Rukajarvi, who finished with silver, and the gold medal winner, America’s Jamie Anderson.
For Bristol-born Jones, the victory finally arrived after a decade in this sport of high drama and danger. She even came back to competition after suffering a massive bang on the head just three months ago.
It was a captivating sight for those up the mountain in Sochi, and the British flags were waved by the small knot of her fans watching at the bottom of the vertiginous run.

‘I did the best run I could have done,’ Jones told the BBC.
'I am pumped, I'm just so pumped. I'm so chuffed. I'm so proud. I just wanted to make it look nice,' Jones could barely comprehend her success.
'It feels amazing. I cannot believe it, I just can't believe it. I knew I was going to drop [down the leaderboard] but I didn't know how far. I am just so happy. It was so difficult waiting. I thought I did my best run and landed it as best as I could.'
‘This is amazing, I'm shaking,’ said Great Britain team-mate Jamie Nicholls, who was sixth in Saturday's men's final.
‘Jenny's been though a lot, she was at the top four years ago and for her to come here and put it down and get a bronze medal is pretty crazy!
‘We don't even have mountains in our country but this shows anyone can make it happen.’
