Nina Agdal flashes her bra while Samantha Hoopes displays a pert posterior as they compete in Sports Illustrated's Beach Volleyball tournament

It's renowned for its swimsuit edition, featuring beautiful models in skimpy bikinis. 

And on Thursday in Miami Beach it was as if the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition had come to life as a number of its models came together for a special volleyball game to celebrate the publication's 50th anniversary edition.

While Nina Agdal was quite modest, showing just a glimpse of her black bra underneath the white vest top she wore over daisy duke shorts, the lesser known Samantha Hoopes was clearly out to make a name for herself as she showed off her pert posterior in a pair of tiny black bikini bottoms. 

Making dreams a reality: On Miami Beach on Thursday it was as if the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition had come to life as models including Nina Agdal [L] and Samantha Hoopes [R] took part in a beach volleyball game 

Tough competitor: Nina gave a glimpse of her black lacy bra as she got stuck into the game against her fellow models 

She also wore a black bikini top and a cut-out white vest with her surname on the back, ensuring that she was the centre of attention. 

And the relatively unknown blonde was lapping up the attention, gamely posing for pictures and ensuring that a great deal of her toned bottom was on display in her barely there bikini bottoms.

Her long blonde hair was loose around her shoulders and she made her long legs even longer by wearing a pair of trainers with a hidden lift.

Daring: Samantha's outfit left little to the imagination, as she displayed her cleavage in a plunging bikini

Did you get my good side? Hoopes showed off her enviable figure in a cut out mini-dress and black bikini

Cheeky! SI model Samantha gave fans a treat as she took to the beach in a barely there outfit 

The 23-year-old blonde is currently vying to win SI's Rookie Of The Year award.

While Hoopes was out to get noticed, Agdal, 21, appeared more interested in showing off her skills. 

The more famous of the two models threw herself into the game and laughed uproariously when she ended up on her bum in the sand. 

The rookie: Hoopes definitely made a name for herself as she competed with established models such as Agdal 

She wore a backwards baseball cap over her long hair and didn't appear to be too worried about getting covered in sand.

Other models on the beach included Chrissy Teigan, Anne V,  Chanel Iman, Irina Shayk, and Kate Upton.

All the competitors enlisted a sponsor for the charity event, which raised more than $20,000 for the Armed Forces Foundation, an organisation that offers assistance to active-duty and retired military personnel.

Competitive: Nina threw herself into the game and celebrated as she scored 

Gigi Hadid and 28-year-old Lily Aldridge's team emerge victorious with 18-year-old Gigi voted most valuable player.

Gigi's mother is Yolanda Foster, a former teen model and one of The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills.

Getting stuck in: Nina didn't appear to care that she ended up covered in sand after falling on her bum during the game 

Making friends: The beautiful Danish model took time out from the game to mingle with fans 

Besties: Nina joined Lily Aldridge for the game and the duo enjoyed a chat afterwards

Parading their pins: Nina and Lily showed off their endless legs as they took time out from the game 

The MVP showed off her athletic body in teeny aquamarine shorts and a white vest over a blue exercise bra.

Getting serious about the game, she pulled her blonde tresses back off her face in a thick plait.

The event at Miami Beach was sponsored by Captain Morgan White Rum.

The game pitted the scantily-clad girls against celebrity chefs and is one of a number of events celebrating the 50th anniversary of the magazine's swimsuit edition.

Actor Jamie Foxx was among celebrities enjoying the steamy afternoon on the sand as was Chrissy Teigen's husband John Legend.

Lily donned tight black exercise leggings with a white vest and pink bra top. She allowed her long brunette tresses to flip freely around her face as she played. 

Covered up: It may have been a Sports Illustrated event but most of the models opted for a covered up look, including Marloes Horst

Afterwards, she and Gigi puckered up as they posed with their huge trophy.

And the event wasn't without drama as it attracted a gatecrasher.

Logan Fazio, dubbed the The Pin-Up Paparazzo, tried to upstage the models as she hit the beach in a bikini.

She's got skills: Lily Aldridge took the game seriously and emerged on the winning team

The photographer is based in Miami where she loves to capture every day life as well as fashion.

However, that didn't appear to upset her as she sported a huge smile while being led away by a burly security guard.
