Hailee Steinfeld, 16, gushes over her high fashion friends as she poses in designer photo shoot

'Being part of that world made me feel cooler': Hailee Steinfeld, 16, gushes over her high fashion friends as she poses in designer photo shoot

She may only be 16 years old but when it comes to experimenting with fashion Hailee Steinfeld has already experienced the cream of the crop.
So it’s no wonder past Oscar nominee looks so comfortable in the expensive clothing she was draped in for the March issue of Fashion magazine.
The actress looks striking in pieces that most teenagers wouldn’t even dream being able to wear as she discussed her favourite threads with the publication.

After appearing in a Chanel suit at Paris Fashion Week last week, the excited star said about mingling with designer Miuccia Prada: ‘We went out for dinner in Paris and she asked me to sit beside her. They cleared out the restaurant – she’s like royalty there.
‘I didn’t want to say much because I just wanted to hear her. Listening to Miuccia’s stories was kind of magical. Being a part of her world, even if only for a moment, made me feel cooler.’
The brunette – who is famed for her role in True Grit - may be petite but she makes sure she stands out in the large flower print red and white collared dress gown that helps make up her spread in the issue.

In another shot, which is more laidback and casual, she dons a dark vest by MCQ Alexander McQueen which is worth a whopping $930.
She has already developed an exquisite taste in style as such a tender age.
The young Hollywood star said: ‘I love Prabal Gurung, so he’s always an option. I remember sitting in the front row to watch his show at fashion week and the music came on and all these gorgeous clothes had such a message.
‘All these strong-willed women—holding their own—walking down his runway looked as gorgeous as ever. I walked away feeling like that’s what I’d feel like when I would put his clothes on.’
And she certainly channels the look of a catwalk star as she places one hand on her hip on the cover of Canada’s Fashion magazine.

She smoulders in a blue and white stripy Lanvin dress, which costs $3,700, teaming it with a gold bracelet, $2,400, and ring, $1,425, both by Delfina Delettrez.
There are plenty more designer clothes where that came from. Steinfeld has seven upcoming to help her achieve even greater star status.
In a film called Enders Game, she plays a self-described ‘a A-type genius’ alongside a cast that includes Harrison Ford and Viola Davis. In Can A Song Save Your Life, Steinfeld portrays a strong-willed teen struggling with school and a broken home. The latter film has Steinfeld acting alongside one of her heroes, Keira Knightley.
‘It was my first time filming on the streets of New York. It was very overwhelming – the paparazzi were surrounding us everywhere because the crew caught so much attention. I didn’t know how to handle it so I looked at Keira for help. The was just so graceful, so calm and collected.’
The mature star shows signs of immense ambition which is understandable after getting to work with such inspiring personalities.
Speaking of her True Grit co-stars she said: ‘The conversations I had with Matt [Damon], Josh [Brolin] and Jeff [Bridges] on set totally changed my life…they changed the way I approach acting. It was an incredible education. I kept a journal on set that carried through the first month. We took over 4,000 pictures – I was looking through them last night and I got chills.’
Hailee is using the experience to focus on achieving her career goals.
She added about the future of women in Hollywood: ‘There’s a new generation of women writing great roles and directing. It’s all coming up at once and I just want to be part of it.’

Her biggest role yet, is as Juliet in the Julian Fellowes adaptation of the Shakespeare classic Romeo and Juliet.
‘We shot in an Italian castle and in a small town called Mantua. It seemed like it was the biggest production the people who live there had ever seen.’
However, she insists she is just like the average teenager once the cameras stop rolling.
Hailee added: ‘I think the second I get wrapped up in how to be a role-model, that’s when things may go wrong, At the end of the day after I finish work or school, I go home and I do everything that a normal teenager has to do. I’m really no different.’
