Honeyz's Heavenli Abdi tries to reassure Célena Cherry during tearful meeting on the Big Reunion

'I'll make it up to you, I promise': Honeyz's Heavenli Abdi tries to reassure Célena Cherry during tearful meeting on the Big Reunion

She quit the Honeyz in the middle of a promotional trip to Australia in 1999 without saying a word.
And now reunited once more for the Big Reunion, Heavenli Abdi is trying to make amends to her former bandmate Célena Cherry and her one-time replacement Mariama Goodman.
In an emotional reunion, which saw all three girls fighting back the tears, Heavenli did her best to reassure an upset Célena that she won't abandon her once more.

Hugging Célena as she wept she told her: 'All I can do is promise you this time... I’ll make it up to you, I promise.'
The reassuring words came as the women met up for the first time ahead of their reunion.
Original bandmember Naima Belkhiati decided not to take part, so Célena called up Mariama who originally took Heavenli's place when she left.
Anxious: Unsurprisingly Célena Cherry expressed worry about the band reuniting once again

At the time Mariama's stint in the band was very short lived and she decided to leave when it got to the point 'she was crying every morning on the way into work.'
Heavenli's decisions to leave were not too dissimilar as she revealed : 'I was away from home, under quite a lot of pressure and I didn’t want to be away.'
After an argument about something trivial she decided she had had enough and got on a plane while saying 'I'm not coming back.'
Quit: Like Heavenli Mariama left when things got too much for her and she spent every day crying

She admitted: 'I didn’t think of Célena, Naima or the record company, I was just thinking of me in that split second.'
As the new line-up of the group got together to talk things over for the Big Reunion, Célena took the lead.
She began: 'I’m a bit scared of what the future will hold, how are we going to cope?

'We had all of this success and then it was taken away.
'Now I feel like I have come to a place where I have grieved it.'
Cautiously Heavenli said: 'Ultimately we are those people who left you in the lurch.'
Concern: The singer admitted that she had held on to a lot of hate since Heavenli walked out on the group

Célena then opened up about how she felt when Heavenli left:'When you left you didn’t say anything.
'You didn’t even call. If you had called and said to me this is the reason then it would have been easier for me not to be so angry.
'It was like a kick in the teeth.'
She continued: 'I’ve held all this anger and hate for ten years.'
Following the testing meeting Heavenli admitted: 'I don’t think she properly understands the extent of how sorry I feel for the pain that I caused her.'
Horrible atmosphere: Mariama admitted that she found it hard when she first joined the band because of comments made to her
