'I thought I was having a stroke': Jessica Alba reveals 'terrifying' hospital dash after losing feeling in her hand

Jessica Alba has revealed how she was rushed to hospital last week - after fearing she was having a stroke.
The Fantastic Four actress, 31, said she was 'terrified' after losing feeling in her hand and suffering a headache and heart palpitations.
The mother-of-two was at home with husband Cash Warren when the drama unfolded.
She explained during an appearance on the Jimmy Fallon Live on Tuesday night: 'Basically I thought I was having a stroke last week. I really, really thought I was.

'It was 2.30 in the morning and I woke up and my hand started to go numb. The whole entire thing went numb.
'It was dead, I couldn't move it. My whole arm went numb, I got cold sensations in the back of my neck to the front. I can't move my face.'
She explained how she looked up the symptoms on the internet and discovered they were consistent with a stroke.
Jessica then called up her daughter's paediatrician in the middle of the night in a bid to get some urgent advice.

She said: 'I texted my paediatrician. It's my kids' paediatrician, but it's the only person who will answer me at 2.30 in the morning.
'I texted him and I said, "I have these symptoms... it's all going downhill!" He was like, "You're a little young for this...'''
She eventually went to hospital for an MRI scan. But the test revealed she was only suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome.
It is a relatively common condition which causes pain, numbness and a tingling sensation in the hand and fingers.
Also as part of her appearance on the US talk show, the Sin City actress recorded a stint in a celebrity kissing booth on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles - with pedestrians lining up to get their chance.

Once in front of the star, Jessica wrapped her arm around her male or female admirers with a rubber glove attached to the glass and puckered up.
She seemed to be having some fun with the prank, and was pictured giggling behind the plexiglass in between smooches.
Jessica looked gorgeous as always, her hair tied up into a chic ponytail and wearing a grey and brown printed dress paired with a silver bib necklace.
Appropriately, her lips were lined in a sultry shade of red.

The mother-of-two has a busy year ahead.

She is currently filming Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, reprising her role as stripper Nancy Callahan in the follow-up to the hit 2005 action crime thriller.
In addition to Sin City, she has three other films scheduled for release later this year, Machete sequel Machete Kills, Stu Zicherman comedy A.C.O.D. and a voiceover role in animated adventure Escape from Planet Earth.
Jessica is also reportedly in the final negotiations to star in Weightless.
The film, about a female astronaut, is an original screenplay from the Oscar-nominated writer and first-time director Milo Addica, who brought Monster Ball to the big screen.
In addition to juggling her movie and mothering roles, Jessica is co-founder of The Honest Company, which provides eco-friendly baby products.

The actress has also been busy promoting her new book The Honest Life, which provides a behind-the-scenes look at her diet and lifestyle.
She recently opened up to Women's Health magazine about how she decompresses in her down time - crediting husband Cash and their two adorable little girls, Haven and Honor, with soothing her stress.
'Spending time with my kids kind of does take all the stress away, weirdly,' she said.
'I'm in the moment with them. They make me so happy, they're pure joy,' she explained. 'I know they're not going to be little forever, so I really soak up as much as I possibly can with them. That's kind of how I de-stress.'
