Catwalk model to celebrity chef isn't a well-trod career path and now Lorraine Pascale has revealed the drive to change her career in this way was all down to her appetite!
Perhaps taking a swipe at the pressure to be slim in the fashion industry, when asked why she gave up her glamorous job in favour of baking during an online question and answer session with the readers of Red magazine, she answered: 'I was hungry!'
The 39 year old, who started modelling when she was 16, said she also wanted to 'try something new'.

She added: 'I was inspired to make the change as I wanted to find something which I could be passionate about and really love.'
    During her days as a runway model, Lorraine worked with many top designers including Chanel, Versace and Donna Karen.
    Despite being in a position many aspiring models covet, she left it all behind to go back to school and train to be a chef.
    She became a student at Leiths School of food and wine in London, then did a four year degree in culinary arts at the University of West London, where she achieved a first.

    Her gamble paid off and she has since become a highly respected and successful cook with her own bakery, Ella’s Bakehouse, in London's Covent Garden, numerous bestselling recipe books and her own BBC2 cookery show.
    The mother-of-one said her story shows it's never to late to pursue your dream career.
    'It's never too late to begin again and be what you have always wanted to be. It was a long search (for me) and lots of ups and downs but I did get there in the end,' she said.
    For anyone hoping to do the same, she warned that it isn't easy to start a new career but it can be possible 'with the right motivation, good friends and a support system.'
    She added: 'Talk loads, do lots of research, ask lots of questions, experiment and ignore the naysayers because there will be lots of them.
