She was once the Time Lord’s sexiest assistant – but Karen Gillan has never looked more in need of a Doctor.
The glamorous redhead may be drop dead gorgeous in real life, but as these pictures show she is, well, just drop dead in her latest television role.
Covered in lesions, with a mouth full of discoloured, decaying teeth, the 25-year-old former Doctor Who star plays a zombie in need of some serious skincare treatment in a spoof cosmetic commercial for a US comedy show.

And she really sinks her teeth into the role of advertising Z’Ombéal: Walking Dead Skin Care in an episode specially devoted to the undead, which airs this Saturday.
In a voiceover for the BBC channel the 6ft tall former model breathlessly asks: ‘When you are undead, does that mean you compromise on beauty? Not a chance.
‘New living skin from Z’Ombéal. With more than 50 per cent actual living cells, you’ll get living coverage that feels healthy. Alive. Skin the way it probably used to be.
‘Living skin by Z’Ombéal.  Because you’re hungry.’
Inverness-born Miss Gillan became an instant hit when she was cast as 11th Doctor Matt Smith’s first companion in May 2009.
She made her first on-screen appearance in the episode The Eleventh Hour, with her cousin Caitlin Blackwood portraying her younger self.
Miss Gillan starred in the seventh series of the cult sci-fi hit which has become a huge success in the US, but both she and her onscreen husband Rory – played by Arthur Darvill – were later written out of the show.
Doctor Who boss Steven Moffat said recently that both characters are ‘dead and buried’ and will not be returning for the show’s 50th anniversary later this year.
