Dina Asher-Smith became the first British woman to run the 100 metres in under 11 seconds as she clocked 10.99 seconds to win her heat at the Sainsbury's Anniversary Games.
The 19-year-old history student announced her arrival as a world-class force by lowering her own British record by 0.03 seconds.
The Londoner was a box carrier at London 2012, but on her return to the Olympic Stadium she finished ahead of World Championship silver medallist Murielle Ahoure.

Asher-Smith, who has the chance to go even quicker in the final, said: 'It means a lot. I'm still a bit confused.
'I'm trying to keep calm so I can execute in the final. I'm over the moon but I've still got a lot to improve because it was messy in places.'
Asher-Smith's time only ranks her 17th in the world this year, but breaking through the 11-second barrier marks a watershed moment in British women's sprinting.
Her achievement was followed moments later by another British record, this time for Shara Proctor in the long jump, as the Anguilla-born athlete soared out to 6.98m with the last attempt of the competition.
