'I am the luckiest happiest girl!' Selena Gomez celebrates her 23rd birthday and gets surprise cake
She may be a star but it's clear Selena Gomez has kept her feet on the ground despite being in the spotlight.
The actress and singer, who turned 23 on Tuesday, surrounded herself with her pals for her birthday, and it was clear they weren't from the same starry walk of life that she treads herself.

The dish had a large scoop of ice cream and a candle stuck in it, with chocolate writing around the dish indicating a birthday message.
Selena wore a deep crimson kimono style robe and black top.
Her hair pulled back off her face, she had a silver ear cuff and her white polish manicure could be seen in the photo.

Speaking on the TJ Show on Boston's 103.3 Amp Radio recently, she said her friends from normal walks of life were very important to her.
Revealing she live in a shared house with a realtor and some one who works for a non profit organisation, Selena said she hates it when her pals get treated differently to her.
Saying it made her feel awkward, she added: 'When I am in social settings and I am with my friends, and everyone treats them differently.
'It is very uncomfortable as everyone treats them differently. I say I love with them. Then an entire room will get weird about it.'
When asked who she meant she said: 'People. When we are at dinner. Even waiters, they won't treat my friends the same.'

It was only a week ago she posted a photo of herself curled up in the passenger seat of a car along with the words: 'Your girl is almost 23!!'
Wearing a pair of pale grey over knee boots, she smiled coyly at the camera peeping over the tops of her sunglasses.
The singer has been busy of late as well as celebrating her birthday - she announced the name of her new album on Tuesday and its release date.
Called Revival, it will be out on October 9.
