Gemma Arterton sports a frumpy look on day out

She's certainly no Bond girl anymore! Gemma Arterton sports a frumpy look on day out

Allure and sexuality are a given for any Bond girl, but that appeal was lost on Gemma Arterton as she stepped out in Hollywood on Sunday.

The actress looked rather frumpy in a baggy shirt and murky brown jeans on Melrose Avenue.

Doing a spot of shopping, one can only hope she was restocking her wardrobe with more stylish attire.

Looking like the perfect candidate to go in front of the panel on E!’s Fashion Police, Gemma’s usual public appearance is far more put together.

But as red carpet events usually see the actress benefit from a stylist, hairdresser and make-up artist, the former Bond girl showed just how reliant some stars are upon their beauty teams.
Currently, Gemma is awaiting the release of her new Gothic thriller Byzantium.

She plays vampire Clara who is mother to Eleanor - played by Saoirse Ronan.
For the last 200 years, the immortal pair have been running from their past, and funding their present through Clara's prostitution.
But Eleanor's weariness at their lonely life causes her to share their supernatural story to a male friend, only for it to lead the danger of their past right to them, and threaten their future.

Luckily Gemma wasn't in charge of the costuming for her role that demands the wardrobe of a sultry seductress.
Costume designer Consolata Boyle doesn't disappoint with her array of corseted dresses and lingerie that showcase the vampire mother's journey through time but still referring to her historic beginnings in the 19th Century.
From Neil Jordan - the director who brought Anne Rice's novel Interview With A Vampire to life in 1994 - Byzantium is expected in UK cinemas on May 31st.
