It was very much a case of all eyes on her as the great and good of the showbiz world geared up for the 2013 MTV Europe Music Awards on Sunday night.
And Miley Cyrus certainly didn't disappoint as she well and truly brought the shock factor to Amsterdam's Ziggo Dome venue ahead of what promised to be a rather eventful night.
Cementing her reputation as the bad girl of pop, the 20-year-old singer strutted her stuff in a pair of monochrome chequered thigh-high boots, a plunging halterneck top... and very little else.
Woman of the moment: Miley Cyrus certainly didn't disappoint as she well and truly brought the shock factor to Amsterdam's Ziggo Dome venue ahead of what promised to be a rather eventful night at the 2013 MTV Europe Music Awards on Sunday
At least the foam finger was nowhere to be seen: Cementing her reputation as the bad girl of pop, the 20-year-old singer strutted her stuff in a pair of monochrome chequered thigh-high boots, a plunging halterneck top... and very little else
Showcasing her tiny frame in her skimpy choice of ensemble, the Wrecking Ball hitmaker chose a somewhat unusual outfit given that she was attending a star-studded awards ceremony.
Miley shunned a fancy gown in favour of a backless halter top with drawstring detail at the front and sides, with very little protecting her modesty as the audience looked on.
The controversial star's top was emblazoned with the images of two men, with the word 'VIOLENCE' running along its hem and the rather telling comment, 'Please Stop' adorning her rear.

Miley was joined at the music event by a stellar line-up, including the likes of Katy Perry, Ellie Goulding and Iggy Azalea.
And the starlet faced stiff competition in the revealing outfit stakes from none other then British songstress Ellie Goulding, who appeared to have become a close friend of hers of late.
Continuing her penchant for wearing very little to high-profile events of late, the British singer opted for a daring sheer lace gown as she hit the red carpet.
Daring to bare in the totally see-through number, the Burn hitmaker proudly flaunted her black bra and pants as she embraced her new BFF Miley with a warm hug in front of the cameras.

On the other end of the scale, Katy Perry went for an altogether more prim and proper look as she hit the red carpet alongside her fellow pop princesses.
Shunning a racy and revealing ensemble in favour of an elegant mint green ensemble, the 29-year-old singer looked the picture of ladylike chic in a satin fishtail pencil dress.
Featuring a conservative high neck and flattering knee-length hem, Katy's choice of outfit stood in stark contrast to the flesh-flashing dresses most of her peers opted for.

Elsewhere, red carpet presenter Laura Whitmore looked positively showstopping as she paraded her seemingly endless pins in a daringly thigh-skimming monochrome minidress.
Featuring a flattering peplum detail, the white strapless number was adorned with a dramatic lace and feather detail, which certainly ensured the Irish beauty stood out from the crowd as she hit the red carpet.

Dressed to impress: Laura looked great in her fun and feminine minidress, while fellow MTV presenter Louise Roe opted for a printed peach midi-dress
Unlikely couple: Although Miley might be his leading lady in terms of scooping awards at the ceremony, Redfoo proved he still had eyes for no-one put his tennis player girlfriend, Victoria Azerenka as they posed together on the red carpet
But Laura was disappointed that she wouldn't be able to get changed throughout her presenting stint, as she had to jet off straight to Australia after fronting her segment of the awards to prepare for her next job on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! NOW!
She told MailOnline on the red carpet: 'I had three outfit choices for tonight, but sadly I won't be changing as I'm flying straight out to Australia.'
Adding even more height to her seemingly endless legs in a pair of black strappy sandals, Laura completed her striking look with her signature winged eyeliner and plum lips, while wearing her blonde locks tied back loosely from her face.
The TV star was joined on the red carpet by her fellow MTV host, Louise Roe, who also ensured she dressed to impress as she prepared for her presenting stint.
The thigh's the limit! Iggy Azalea didn't hold back as she flashed a generous amount of thigh in her one-shoulder flowing black gown
Commanding attention as she posed alongside the great and good of the showbiz world, the Plain Jane host looked incredible in a low-cut spaghetti-strap peach midi-dress.
Featuring a brave thigh-high split and a fun geometric pattern, the British star teamed her chic dress with gold strappy heels and dramatic smokey eye make-up.
The girls were joined on the red carpet by main MTV EMA host, Redfoo, who put on a typically quirky display for the cameras.
Pulling numerous shapes as he made his mark on the event before he even opened his mouth, the LMFAO singer had nothing put praise to offer for woman of the moment Miley Cyrus, who was nominated for four awards at the ceremony.
He told MailOnline: 'Miley is a genius. I hope she's wins something, tonight's all about her.'
Dutch TV presenter and WAG Sylvie van der Vaart turned on the glamour in a plunging black gown, breaking the cardinal sin of putting both her cleavage and her legs on show.
Model Tyson Beckford looked every inch the dapper dude as he arrived at the event with Shanina Shaik on his arm, suited and booted to perfection in a white tux and black bow-tie.
But Jay Sean and Swizz Beatz opted for a more casual approach to their outfits, with the latter opting for a low-key vibe in a hoodie, baseball cap and trainers.
Justin Timberlake leads the nominations for the awards ceremony with five nods for Best Male, Best Live, Best Video for 'Mirrors', Best US Act and Best Look.

They are also nominated in the prestigious Best Song section for their huge hit Thrift Shop. Hot on those acts' heels, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke, are all up for four awards each.
Gaga and Miley will go head-to-head for the Best Female title and, alongside Robin Thicke, all three will compete for the coveted title of Best Video.
With both Miley and Robin expected to attend, it is rumoured they could recreate - or even top - their momentous performance at the US version of the show, the MTV Video Music Awards, last month.
That performance proved controversial when Miley twerked against the singer in a flesh-coloured latex bikini as they performed a version of his track Blurred Lines.
Of their performance - which outraged many - she later said: 'Every VMA performance, anyone that performs ... That's what you are looking for. You want to make history. Me and Robin, the whole time, said, "You know you are about to make history right now?" '
They love it! Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo of Icona Pop wrapped their arms around each other as they posed together on the red carpet
