It did not go unnoticed with one follower writing:  'I am stunned to see your transformation! Totally different from [Harry Potter]'
Many others have noted that Ron Weasley would be 'gutted' to see Patil now, after he famously ignored her at the Yule Ball in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
Currently, Azad has 28,000 followers on Instagram and more than 45,000 fans on Twitter.
On both accounts she mentions her big break in Harry Potter.
Azad was studying for her AS levels at Xaverian College in Rusholme, Manchester, when she was cast in the 2005 film.

She took the role of Padma, the twin sister of Parvati Patil, played by actress Shefila Chowdhury.
The sisters are Harry Potter's classmates at the Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft And Wizardry.
Azad, who once had ambitions to be a journalist, went on to appear in all of the Harry Potter films while continuing her studies.
Her family is originally from Bangladesh though both her parents were born and educated in the UK.
Before being picked to play the part of Padma, Azad had never acted and admitted she only went to the audition for a laugh with her friends.
After landing her part she said: ‘It was the best experience of my life. I was a bit star-struck - I was a big Harry Potter fan.’
In light of her transformation, FEMAIL takes a look at what's happened to the other wizarding child stars...
HARRY MELLING AS  DUDLEY DURSLEY
Harry Melling appeared in five of the Harry Potter films as Potter's bullying and spoiled cousin Dudley Dursley
He had to wear a fat suit when he reprised the role after losing a considerable amount of weight
Harry Melling appeared in five of the Harry Potter films as Potter's bullying and spoiled cousin Dudley Dursley (left) - but over the years he dramatically lost weight (right)
Harry Melling, who played Harry Potter’s chubby, spoilt muggle cousin Dudley Dursley is barely recognisable more than a decade on.
After deciding he didn't want to be type-cast as 'fat', the 26-year-old took up exercise and cut back on junk food.
For Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallow - which screened nine years after the first Potter film - Melling reprised the role by wearing a fat suit.
He said of his transformation: 'I do look a bit different because Dudley was a very piggish character and about three years ago I lost quite a considerable amount of weight.
'It was quite funny because I had a big fat suit on in this film and face prosthetic.
'It was bizarre, you feel really big and my mobility was affected. However it is amazing to feel light but within someone that should feel really heavy, so that was a fascinating contrast.'
Despite appearing in Harry Potter and BBC One TV series Merlin, Melling's love remains in theatre and he has appeared in numerous productions over the years.
MATTHEW LEWIS AS NEVILLE LONGBOTTOM
Growing pains: Matthew Lewis is an English film, television and stage actor, best known for playing Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter films
Many have commented on just how much he has blossomed since the film franchise (pictured in 2014)
Matthew Lewis is an English film, television and stage actor, best known for playing Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter films (seen left, in Harry Potter and, right, in 2014)
Almost 15 years ago, Matthew Lewis was cast as the bumbling, plump Hogwarts student Neville Longbottom.
But after going through an awkward teenage phase, the actor blossomed into a handsome young man.
Looking back at the first Harry Potter film in 2001, it's unlikely fans would have predicted clumsy Neville would turn out to be the franchise's heart-throb.
The child actor's transformation came to light as far back as 2012 when he took to the West End stage.
But now Lewis is getting set to play an uber-fit personal trainer in the film Me Before You - and his commitment to the physicality of the role was very apparent when he appeared on the front of Attitude magazine this spring.
Lewis revealed that he cut down carbs and alcohol in a bid to get in shape.
When he shared images while shooting his comedy series Bluestone 42, even Emma Watson praised his hunky appearance on Twitter.
Meanwhile, another fan wrote: 'I still can't believe he was Neville! Man, Matthew aged well!'
JAMES AND OLIVER PHELPS AS THE WEASLEY TWINS

Call it karma, but when James and Oliver Phelps were cast in the Harry Potter films as the red-headed twin brothers of the equally flame-haired Ron Weasley, James knew that he was in for a spot of payback.
He said: ‘I used to walk to school with a boy called Andrew who had bright red hair,’ he said in a previous interview, ‘I used to tease him constantly about it. Then we got cast as the Weasley twins and had to dye our hair red for the next ten years. All the years of joking at Andrew’s expense just came back and slapped me in the face.’
As Fred and George Weasley respectively, James and Oliver had to dye their brown hair ginger every few weeks.
‘We miss a lot of things about doing Harry Potter, but dyeing our hair isn’t one of them,’ said James.
Oliver and James were just 14 years old when they auditioned for the roles of the Weasley twins, ostensibly, says Oliver, ‘to get a day off school’.
A couple of months prior to the auditions, their drama teacher had advised them not to bother with acting, ‘because you won’t do anything … you should try something else’.
However, they proved their tutor wrong and after Harry Potter finished the identical twin brothers relocated to Hollywood to try their luck. Currently, they spend time in the US and back home in England.
Their shoulder-length red hair has since gone, and the Phelps twins are barely recognisable with stylish short brown cuts.
TOM FELTON AS DRACO MALFOY
Tom Felton played Draco Malfoy in all eight Harry Potter films, from 2001 to 2011
He is keeping busy with a variety of more mature acting roles
Tom Felton began appearing in commercials when he was eight years old - after being cast as Draco Malfoy (left) he subsequently appeared in all eight Harry Potter films, from 2001 to 2011
Well before landing the roll of evil, blonde-haired bully Draco Malfoy in Harry Potter, Tom Felton was used to being in front of the camera.
He started appearing in TV commercials when he was eight years old and at ten he landed film parts in The Borrowers and Anna and the King.
Felton's portrayal of Draco Malfoy in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 won him the MTV Movie Award for Best Villain in 2010 and 2011.
Since the final fall of the Dark Lord, Felton has definitely come of age - and he has kept himself busy with a whole host of roles.
In his first post-Harry Potter film, Felton appeared in the 2011 film Rise of the Planet of the Apes, a reboot of the Planet of the Apes series.
Currently, Felton stars in TNT’s Murder In The First, where he plays Erich Blunt, an arrogant and wealthy Tech company CEO who becomes a person of interest for the San Francisco police homicide department.
The British actor stars opposite Taye Diggs and Kathleen Robertson, who play detectives Terry Seagrave and Hildy Mulligan, in the show that investigates a maze-like case of murder.
Most recently, 27-year-old Felton also starred in big-screen project Against The Sun.
Directed by Brian Falk, it tells the tale of a trio of men - a WWII pilot, bombardier, and radioman - who find themselves adrift on a lifeboat without food or water after being forced to ditch their plane during a scouting mission.
He will next star in Clavius - a depiction of events surrounding Christ's missing body after his crucifixion - opposite Joseph Fiennes.
JAMIE WAYLETT AS VINCENT CRABBE

He was in some sticky situations in his role as Vincent Crabbe, the thuggish bully in the Harry Potter movies.
But Jamie Waylett ran into deeper trouble than his character ever did following a 2009 drug bust. It began when he was stopped in a car and eight separate bags of cannabis were reportedly seized.
Things took an even more serious turn when cops conducted a search of his mother's house and discovered an alleged cannabis farm.
Waylett was sentenced to a 12-month community order plus 80 hours of unpaid work for cultivating the plants at an earlier hearing.
Then, in 2011 more trouble emerged and Waylett stood trial at crown court after being accused of wielding a petrol bomb during the London riots.
The jury took three-and-a-half hours to find him guilty of violent disorder and he was jailed for two years.
Waylett's defendent, Emily Dummett, said of the child star's downfall: 'He acknowledges the seriousness of his actions. He struggled in school, achieving three low grade GCSEs.
'He completed a painting and decorating qualification at college but he is not in work at the moment.
'Although he had the good fortune to be one of the actors in the Harry Potter films he didn't handle the publicity well and began using cannabis.
'His usage increased and that led to a conviction in 2009 for possession and later cultivation.
'Inevitably what followed was his character being written out of the films. He has a difficult relationship with his mother, and relies on his grandfather for support.'
DANIEL RADCLIFFE AS HARRY POTTER
Daniel Radcliffe was just 11 when he was cast as Harry Potter in the first film
Daniel says he has worked incredibly hard since to prove himself as a serious actor
Daniel Radcliffe was cast as Harry Potter in the first Harry Potter film (left) aged 11. He has since worked hard to prove himself as a serious actor
Daniel Radcliffe previously revealed he had a ‘massive chip' on his shoulder because of his role as Harry Potter.
The London-born child actor, who earned £50 million from the film series, said that he was paranoid that nobody would take him seriously as an actor because he was handed success on a plate.
Radcliffe said that he worried people would think he just 'fell into' being famous when he was given the job at the age of 11 - and did not really deserve it.
In an interview he revealed that he has worked 90-hour weeks with hardly any holidays in an effort to establish himself on his own terms.
Even before the end of the Potter franchise he had performed in the controversial stage drama Equus in which he appeared naked with ripped abs in front of the audience.
In an interview Radcliffe, 25, said: ‘I had a massive chip on my shoulder.
‘When you fall into something at age 11 and get paid incredible amounts of money for your entire teenage years for doing a job anyone would want, there is a part of you that thinks everybody is just saying, "He got there because he fell into it; he’s not really an actor."
‘It has taken a long time to feel like I’ve earned the place that I’m at.'
Radcliffe moved out of home at 17 and began drinking to battle his demons but it got so serious he would blackout, unable to account for the previous eight hours.
He gave up alcohol but still could not stop telling himself: ‘You’re going to fail’.
However, he has since managed to forge a new life and is happily living in New York with his girlfriend, Erin Darke, 30.
On the acting front, he is currently filming a number of projects which include the Now You See Me sequel and TV movie Game Changer.
RUPERT GRINT AS RON WEASLEY
Rupert Grint was cast as Ron Weasley at the age of 11 and starred in all eight Harry Potter films
He has taken on various film roles since and has even appeared on Broadway
Big break: Rupert Grint was cast as Ron Weasley at the age of 11 (left) - he starred in all eight Harry Potter films alongside Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson
Rupert’s role as Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter movies means he is now worth £24 million. He has invested a portion of his fortune in property.
The Essex-born star had no formal acting training but was cast in the wizard series at 11 after sending in a video of himself rapping to children’s show Newsround.
He made the final movie, The Deathly Hallows: Part 2, when he was 22.
Since then he has taken on various film roles and in 2014, it was announced that Grint would make his Broadway debut as Frank Finger in the play It's Only a Play alongside Matthew Broderick, Nathan Lane, Stockard Channing, and Megan Mullally.
Living out his teenage years on the big screen, and becoming a household name in the process, Rupert said that he felt burdened by the weight of expectation.
'It’s very scary. Broadway does feel like a much bigger event and I know there’s a lot of expectation.
'I do feel under pressure. I feel like I’ve got quite a bit to prove. I am out of my comfort zone here and am the least experienced out of everyone on stage.
'During the first few days in rehearsals I was really intimidated because it’s quite a group of people. But there are no big egos. Being on stage is a real team thing, and everyone has been great, really cool. I just feel really lucky to be a part of it.'
On the personal front, Grint prefers to maintain a low profile. However, in October 2014 it was confirmed he was in a relationship.
EMMA WATSON AS HERMIONE GRANGER
Emma Watson had only acted in school plays before she rose to fame as Hermione Granger
She has acted and produced since, and even been appointed UN Women Goodwill Ambassador
Emma Watson rose to prominence as Hermione Granger (left) in the Harry Potter film series, appearing in all eight films from 2001 to 2011 - she'd previously only acted in school plays
Today Emma Watson - who found fame as Miss goodie two-shoes Hermoine Granger - is one of Britain's most successful actresses.
And, according to a recent report in Variety, the former Harry Potter actress will up her game even further with a new project scheduled in her work diary.
The Hollywood industry magazine reports that the 25-year-old will star alongside veteran actor Tom Hanks in the upcoming adaptation of Dave Eggers‘ novel The Circle.
The publication claims that Paris-born Emma will play 'an employee hired for a big job in an Internet monopoly called the Circle, which links users’ personal emails, social media, banking and purchasing with their universal operating system, resulting in one online identity and a new age of civility and transparency.'
Additional reporting claims she'll play the lead character Mae in the forthcoming production, which will be adapted and directed by James Ponsoldt.
'Emma Watson is one of my favorite actors, and her incredible talent, sensitivity, and deep intelligence will bring an electric energy to The Circle,' said Ponsoldt in a statement.
She will allegedly be joined on-set by Academy Award-winner Tom Hanks, who will make his presence felt on both sides of the camera.
Next up, Emma will be working with the producer of Harry Potter, David Heyman, to produce on a multi-part adaptation of fantasy series Queen Of The Tearling, which marks her first producing project too.
Speaking to Total Film in March, Emma said she wanted to 'dip her toes in' and 'go full steam ahead' with her career.
On top of her acting, Watson graduated from Brown University in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in English literature before being appointed as a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador.

Katie Leung - who found fame as the first girl to kiss Harry Potter in the blockbuster films - admitted she suffered a massive crisis of confidence because she felt a fraud as an actress.
She was a 16-year-old Scottish schoolgirl with no acting experience when she was picked from 3,000 hopefuls at an open casting for the role of Cho Chang in Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire in 2004.
But while her Hogwarts co-stars used the Potter franchise as a stepping stone to greater things, Katie turned to photography, completing a degree course at Edinburgh College of Art.
However, after four years out of the limelight, the draw of showbusiness proved too strong and she signed up for a three-year acting course at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
She went on to star in the gritty Channel 4 drama Run and play the lead in the first stage adaptation of Jung Chang’s Wild Swans.
Talking about her career journey, 27-year-old Leung said: ‘I will always be grateful for the opportunity the Harry Potter films gave me.
'It took me a few years to get to the point where I realised I would rather die than sit in an office nine to five. But the indecision has gone and now I’m committed to acting.’
In 2014, Leung won a BAFTA for the best 'Breakthrough Brit'.
