Who bares, wins! Jennifer Lopez, 45, reveals her incredibly toned stomach in daring wrap dress while Selena Gomez, 22, covers up from head to toe on the American Music Awards red carpet
She might be twice as old as Selena Gomez, but Jennifer Lopez proved she is twice as daring when it comes to fashion.
The 45-year-old outshone Selena, 22, on the red carpet at the American Music Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday in a daring wrap dress that confidently displayed her incredibly toned stomach.
And even pop favourite Selena, who is half J-Lo's age, could not even come close to competing in a more than demure black gown as she covered up with a high neckline and a skirt that went past her toes.

Showdown: Jennifer Lopez (L) and Selena Gomez (R) battled it out on the red carpet as they led the glamour at the American Music Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday
Nearly every inch of J-Lo's toned torso was accentuated by the Reem Acra dress as she slicked her tresses back to reveal her stunning face and Norman Silverman Diamond earrings. Standing tall in sparkly Christian Louboutin heels, the Booty singer carried a small clutch that matched her footwear.
Smoky eye make-up completed the gorgeous mother-of-two's look as she posed confidently on the red carpet. Selena, meanwhile, was nearly covered neck-to-toe as she sported a Giorgio Armani Prive black gown with Neil Lane jewelry while tying her dark hair back into a neat ponytail.
Also on the red carpet was Jordin Sparks, who co-hosted the AMAs pre-show with country singer Gavin DeGraw. She looked suitably glamorous for her arrival in a plunging sequinned Halston Heritage dress with a slit-to-the-thigh skirt.
Simply Booty-ful: The 45-year-old looked elegant as she proved she's an all-natural beauty while flashing a bit of boob in a Reem Acra dress, Christian Louboutin shoes and Norman Silverman Diamonds earrings
Oh so demure! The 22-year-old wore a tasteful Giorgio Armani Prive dress but was nonetheless outshined by J-Lo's choice in red carpet glamour
Gorgeous: J-Lo most certainly made the most glamorous arrival to the awards show
But the American Idol star, 24, had some competition in the form and figure of Fergie, who was equally stunning in a black split to the hip Halston gown with gold accents.
Sparks completed her look with Dolce and Gabbana heels and a nose ring as she wore her hair down in curls. Meanwhile, the 39-year-old Black Eyed Peas singer opted for strappy Versus stilettos as her gorgeous blonde hair was swept back in flowing waves over her shoulders.
Other arrivals included Heidi Klum, Gigi Hadid, Guiliana Rancic, Meghan Trainor, Danica McKellar, Kate Beckinsale, Nicki Minaj, Taylor Schilling, Dianna Agron, Zendaya, Olivia Munn and a host of other stars.
Heidi, 41, walked the red carpet in an eye-catching Versace dress and some rather ill-chosen high-heeled sandals. With big straps and far too much glitter to go for the gold, the shoes were a huge misstep on Heidi's part.
Ready to shine: Jordin Sparks (L) and Fergie (M) stepped out in slit-to-the-thigh dresses
The early birds: Gigi Hadid (L) made an appearance in a pantsuit as Guiliana Rancic (M) was stunning in blue while Meghan Trainor opted to display her legs in a tasteful mini dress
Stepping it up: Disney star Zendaya (L) tried her best to win top of the crops as Charli XCX (M) went for the plunge and Jhene Aiko (R) was the belle of the ball
Lemon yellow sun: Rita Ora made a bright entrance for her walk on the red carpet
McKellar, who is already back at work after getting married in Hawaii last week, showed off her fresh tanned skin as she wore an intricate lace and sheer chiffon dress that hugged her svelte figure.
Trainor was also sure to hit the ground running in a flattering waist-accentuating ensemble. The 20-year-old star arrived at the Nokia Theatre in a fitted black lace top and satin flared skirt by Ted Baker London.
For a pop of colour the singer carried a glittering scarlet lip-shaped clutch in a nod to her new single Lips Are Movin. The blonde beauty showed off plenty of leg and added to her height with some glitter platform pumps with girly bow detail. Her long locks were styled straight and smooth and she donned emerald drop earrings to complete the look.
Gorgeous: Christina Milian (L), Ali Fedotowsky (M), and Elizabeth Banks (R) positively glowed on the red carpet
Belles of the ball: Taylor Schilling (far left), Diana Ross (middle left), Dianna Agron (middle right), and Renee Bargh (far right) stunned in their gorgeous gowns
Keeping up with the Jenners: Kendall and Kylie stunned in glamorous dresses
With big sis: Khloe Kardashian took her little sisters out for a night at the AMAs
Beckinsale, 41, took the plunge in a gorgeous white gown as she pinned her hair back to reveal her pert face. Rancic opted for an asymmetric off the shoulder Alex Perry gown while Gigi Hadid was keen on looking business smart in a pantsuit by Prabal Gurung.
Minaj, 31, wore a bell shaped mini-dress by Alexander Wang and Manolo Blahnik shoes. Dianna Agron, however, was more intent upon displaying her creamy shoulders in an elegant Marchesa dress as she pinned her golden locks back into a high bun while balancing in Christian Louboutin shoes.
Schilling, of Orange Is The New Black fame, seemed to be similarly minded when it came to red carpet wear as she opted for a one-shoulder strap gown by Vionnet while sporting Brian Atwood shoes.
Stunning: Kate Beckinsale (L) was a vision in white as Becky G (M) wore a mini dress and Lauren Cohan (R) took the plunge
Posing up: The One Direction boys coordinated in all-black for their group arrival
Legs 11... out of 10: Heidi Klum was looking glamorous and elegant as per usual for her red carpet arrival
Centre of attention: The 41-year-old stirred up a frenzy during her eye-popping arrival
Zendaya may have been the most oddly dressed in what could only be described as a genie inspired getup with a blue bikini top and gold bell bottoms and matching raincoat.
Olivia Munn continued the gold theme, this time in lamé, as she took the plunge, showcasing her incredible body with a Lanvin gown.
But the most attention grabbing display may have been by the Jenner girls Kendall and Kylie, who were escorted by their big sister Khloe Kardashian.
Gleeful arrival: Jessie J (L), Danica McKellar (M), and Mary J Blige all flashed smiles as they made their way into the ceremony
Eye-popping: TV personality Bleona certainly positioned herself for first place in the worst dressed list of the night
Hungry for attention? The TV personality posed in her outrageous getup, which did little to flatter her figure
Luminaries: Katy Tiz (far left) opted for lace as Bailee Madison (middle left) was elegant in a white gown, while Noah Cyrus wore a playsuit (middle right), and Mary Lambert kept it simple in a maxi dress
Kendall, 19, wore a sheer dress slit to the navel teamed with hotpants as she posed like the trained model she is. Her younger sister Kylie, 17, sported a split-to-the-thigh gown with a plunging neckline.
Their older sibling Khloe, 30, donned her own figure hugging, thigh baring, ensemble showcasing her ample curves.
Diana Ross, 70, was a bit more carefree than the younger stars on the red carpet. The music legend was clearly having a ball as she laughed and joked in a massive ruffled feathered garment.
All that glimmers: Olivia Munn (L) was gorgeous in a gold dress as Danai Gurira (R) wore a shiny green frock
Putting in the leg work: Julianne Hough (L), Nicki Minaj (M), and Lucy Hale (R) made sure to show some skin
Look of love: Luke Bryan and Caroline Boyer posed up as smitten couple Jenny McCarthy and actor Donnie Wahlberg cuddled up
Meanwhile, some surprises were in order for the night of arrivals with Jenny McCarthy covering up her fabulous figure in a demure ankle length black gown by Cushnie et Ochs all while balancing in Fendi shoes.
The tame showing may have been the work of husband Donnie Wahlberg, who married the star just 12 weeks ago.
Donnie, a former teen heartthrob, decked himself out in a shiny maroon suit with black shirt and tie as he kept a hand firmly planted on Jenny's bottom.
Men of music: Sam Smith (far left), Matthew Morrison (middle left), Lance Bass (middle right), and Nick Jonas (R) all wore suits
Fashion forward: Ansel Elgort (L), Jaden Smith (M), and Wyclef Jean opted for a more hip look
A booty-ful moment: Kylie and Khloe talked as they strode the red carpet
DWTS favourite Julianne Hough made sure to show off her incredible dancer's body in a slit-to-the-thigh gown by Zuhair Murad, which also managed to show off her toned shoulders.
Rita Ora was certain to steal a bit of the limelight away with some lemony colour in the form of a bright dress by Zac Posen with a massive, almost obnoxiously long train.
And rounding out the evening's list of red carpet stars was Christina Milian, who draped herself in a demure maxi dress that showed a hint of cleavage with a nearly sheer design.
After the excitement and glamour outside, it was time for the show, hosted by rapper Pitbull. It went off with a bang, with performances from the likes of Taylor Swift, Lorde, Selena Gomez, Jessie J, Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande, Iggy Azalea, Jennifer Lopez, Charli XCX, Fergie, Christina Milian and Lil Wayne.
Taylor Swift opened the show with a glitzy and dazzling performance of Blank Space, complete with props and impressive pyrotechnics.
Revealing her theatrical side, the 24-year-old country-pop crossover pushed and shoved her way through several handsome male dancers as she set the stage ablaze belting out her chart-topping hit.

Crazy eyes: While singing the lyric 'I'm insane' the songwriter gave her best eye-popping expression
Also performing at the AMAs was her best friend Lorde, and her other best pal Selena Gomez. New Zealand superstar Lorde opted for a completely different style from her flamboyant pal, delivering a live rendition of Yellow Flicker Beat in a small white box.
The 18-year-old chart topper burst out of the tiny cube to deliver a flawless performance of the track while wearing a white tummy-baring top as best gal pal Taylor danced in the audience.
And Selena almost broke down in tears during her time up on stage. The talented star struggled to hold back her tears as she put on a very emotional performance of her song The Heart Wants What It Wants.
Indeed, so emotional was Selena's performance that she even set off her bestie - Taylor - who appeared to be crying as she watched.
Selena, 22, expressed her heartbroken sorrows on the show stage as she repeatedly whispered 'I thought you were the one' at the end of her powerful ballad.

As ever, the combined likes of Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj caused a riot on stage when they reunited once again for a rendition of their mega-hit single Bang Bang, proving they're an unstoppable power trio.
Jessie J, 26, opened the live performance by entering through the crowd, where she stopped along the way to bump and grind with some of the celebs in attendance.
Wearing a metallic and very revealing bodysuit, the singer grinded up next to Khloe Kardashian, and then Taylor Swift, however, Sam Smith looked reluctant to get jiggy with it. She next moved onto Lorde, who appeared to be thrilled by the attention as she danced and sang along.
The biggest fan of the stunt, however, was Kendall Jenner as she clearly got a kick out of seeing her older sister Khloe get down with the British singer. Jessie then turned the attention over to Ariana, 21, who sang her part while kicking out her legs seductively.
The spritely young woman wore a gold crop top and matching mini skirt as she raised her left leg up which was also a metallic gold stiletto.
But the real wow moment came when Nicki, 31, stepped onto the stage to lay down some serious rhymes as she rapped the highlight of the song.
Pumping it: Jessie got her groove on as Nicki layed down some rhymes

Taking it down slow: Ariana, 21, made sure to steal the show with her crop top and mini skirt

Her turn: Nicki, 31, performed a song earlier that evening, as did Ariana, who wowed in a lace black figure-hugging gown
Earlier in the evening, both Ariana and Nicki had performed solo performances in more demure outfits.
Jennifer Lopez and Iggy Azalea joined forces to sing their hit Booty, but they kept their reenactment of their raunchy video pretty tame on Sunday when they took to the stage at the American Music Awards.
Jennifer, 45, kicked off their show in a sparkling tuxedo-style bodysuit showing off some impressive moves and incredible flexibility. Before being joined onstage by Aussie rapper Iggy, Jennifer whipped off her black and white costume to reveal a sparking red bodysuit.
Iggy, 24, appeared in a lower party of the stage in a gold halterneck bodysuit with her blonde locks tied up in a thick bushy ponytail.

Latex lady: Charli XCX put on an impressive performance at the American Music Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday, working a daring outfit as she sung her songs Boom Clap and Break The Rules
Defying gravity! Charli was spun every which way on stage, and managed to keep her ample chest inside the latex top as she turned upside down
Charli XCX put on a dramatic and raunchy performance as she strutted her stuff on stage in a latex two-piece outfit as leather and bondage-clad dancers lifted her up as she sang Boom Clap and Break The Rules.
Also wowing on the night was Christina Milian, who joined rapper Lil Wayne. Dressed to impress in a skirt slit to her waist and a lace bra, the 33-year-old singer, certainly didn't disappoint as she and Wayne, 32, debuted the single off of the rapper's upcoming album, Tha Carter V.
Christina's costume involved the bare minimum of fabric in most locations, diminishing to black straps around her abdomen and legs. For a top, the singer wore a black bra that shaded into a see-through mesh as it approached her neck.
It was a big night for British X Factor contestant-turned-chart topper Ella Henderson, who appeared at the US ceremony on stage to present Mary J Blige who also performed.
The Ghost hitmaker, 18, kept her attire simple and chic before joining Aloe Blacc on stage to introduce the R&B artist.
Hot and sexy: The song and the backdrop weren't the only things on fire as Christina danced sexily throughout the performance
On fire: Christina Milian performed with Lil Wayne for his new single, Start The Fire, at the AMAs on Sunday
In good company: The X Factor beauty later joined Aloe Blacc on stage to introduce Mary J. Blige who was performing at the bash
War of words: The feud between Lorde and Selena came about when each dissed the other's take on music and feminism back in 2013
Host with the most? Rapper Pitbull did his best to keep the zingers flying on the night, and said he had watched J-Lo's Booty video 'a hundred times and in slow motion'
And there was a potentially awkward moment in the star-studded audience, as former sparring partners Lorde and Selena Gomez were seated next to each other, alongside their mutual friend Taylor Swift. Only one year ago, the two young stars were engaged in a war of words over their songs and the nature of feminism.
It was still unclear if they had buried the hatchet as they sat awkwardly at first, and failed to really interact with one another. Seats were switched throughout the night - especially in the case of the always moving Taylor - but the trio was spotted on several occasions.
As well as being one of the most photographed and talked-about stars of the night, it was all-round successful for Taylor, who scooped the prestigious Dick Clark Award For Excellence, which was given to her by Diana Ross.
Ever the campaigner, the star used her acceptance speech in the spotlight to proclaim that 'music should be consumed in albums.'
The speech highlighted views that put her at odds with the streaming service Spotify, which she has stated before does not 'fairly compensate' artists.

Winner! Iggy Azalea got emotional as she accepted the awards for Favourite Rap/Hip-Hop Album and Artist at the AMAs on Sunday night
Other big winners on the night included the likes of One Direction, Australian rockers 5 Seconds of Summer, Sam Smith, Katy Perry (who wasn't at the ceremony) and Iggy Azalea, who beat her detractor Eminem in two categories.
He threatens to drag her by his Humvee and rape her in his new song, Vegas, but Iggy nevertheless had the grace to mention Eminem when she swept up gongs for both Favourite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist and Favourite Rap/Hip-Hop Album.
Beating off competition from the Eight Mile rapper and Drake to take out the awards, Iggy said: 'It just means so much that I can stand here against Eminem and Drake and come out with this, it's amazing,' as she accepted the title for Favourite Album.
The Australian-born hitmaker got emotional during her speech and with a quiver in her voice continued: 'It means so much to me that it is for Best Hip Hop because that's what inspired me to move to America and pursue my dreams.
Also doing great things for Down Under were 5SOS, who bagged the award for New Artist of the Year. Band members Luke Hemmings, Ashton Irwin, Calum Hood and Michael Clifford took to the stage to accept their accolade, thanking fans for helping them go from a 'little band in Sydney' to global musical heartthrobs.
They also performed on the night, a smashing rendition of The Romantics' smash hit, What I Like About You.

British boyband One Direction reigned supreme at the awards, though, winning three. Not only did they win the coveted Artist of the Year gong, they also took home the Favourite Album in the Pop/Rock category for Midnight Memories and the Favourite Band prize.
'It's amazing because we worked so hard on these last two albums,' band member Liam Payne said.
The five-piece band - who had reunited after Zayn Malik had taken time off due to illness - performed their latest single Night Changes against a night-time forest backdrop.
Other notable moments during the show include Rita Ora arriving on stage alongside Matthew Morisson in her shocking yellow dress to introduce Wyclef Jean to stage, and when Jamie Foxx recruited his adorable daughter to join him on stage to give out a prize to Iggy Azalea.
Black Eye Peas star Fergie had wowed during her performance in a very leggy outfit, after being announced on stage by husband Josh Duhamel.
And Khloe Kardashian, Kendall and Kylie Jenner made it a working night as they also hopped up on stage to present an award, showing off their fabulous frocks.
