Salma Hayek beats the London chill in chic cropped houndstooth jacket and black trousers at Stella McCartney Christmas event

She has spoken previously about her love of London and Salma Hayek certainly looked delighted to be enjoying a swanky bash in the English capital on Wednesday night.

The 48-year-old actress attended the Christmas Lights Switch On at the Stella McCartney Bruton Street store in London, looking chic in a cropped houndstooth jacket and black trousers.

Of course Stella's label is part of Kering, the French luxury goods holding company owned by Salma's husband François-Henri Pinault, 52 so no doubt she was happy to attend the event.

Salma's dark hair flowed around her shoulders in loose curls and she carried a small yellow handbag.

It's not surprising the actress managed to look so stylish, as her husband's company also owns labels including Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, Brioni, Gucci, Puma and Volcom.

While Salma lives in Paris, she revealed in March of this year that she and her husband of five years were considering relocating from Paris to London.

Speaking in an interview with The Times Magazine, the actress said: 'I want to clarify, it's not for tax purposes. We are still paying taxes here in France.

'We think that London has a lot more to offer than just a better tax situation. François thinks London is very cosmopolitan. I think it will be good for my career too.'

Meanwhile, she can usually be trusted to show off her petite frame in a figure-hugging ensemble.

But Kylie Minogue opted for a much more low-key sartorial display as she attend the Stella McCartney bash on Wednesday .

The 46-year-old icon still looked effortlessly stylish in a black satin top which featured lace detail.

She teamed the sexy top with rolled-up distressed denim jeans and added a touch of glitz to her look with a sequinned black blazer.

The diminutive star added height with classic black stiletto heels while she toted a black clutch bag.

Kylie is currently on a well-earned break from her global Kiss Me Once tour, which went on hiatus in mid-November after she performed in venues across Europe.

The Into The Blue hitmaker will pick it back up in March 2015, when she heads to her home country of Australia, to finish the tour.
