When you're standing shoulder to shoulder with fashion's elite Anna Wintour, Stella McCartney and Alexa Chung, it's hard to make an impression.

But, if that was Australian actress Melissa George's intentions at the eleventh Vogue Fashion Fund Awards dinner in New York, then she certainly triumphed.

The luminous beauty, 38, made sure all eyes were on her - and her resplendent body on Monday night - as she dared to bare in a plunging lace top that exposed her bosoms.

Showing off her feminine silhouette in the sheer top that cut almost to the navel and flashed a little too much skin, Melissa proudly put her post baby body on display, nine months after giving birth.

Hands on hips The Good Wife actress posed in a free-flowing pleated black skirt that fell to her ankles and split to the thigh, exposing her porcelain pins.

She kicked up her heels in a pair of black pointed stilettos as she attended the event without her partner and the father of her child, French entrepreneur Jean-David Blanc, who is the founder of AlloCine.

Instead, the daring style maven, who gave birth to her first born Raphael in February, was accompanied by Tome designers, Australian duo Ramon Martin and Ryan Lobo, who looked dashing in black suits.

Making the most of her elegant physique the former Home And Away talent swept her blonde locks up into a chic chignon, and wore a pair of diamonds earrings.

Heavily mascaraed lashes and a heavy coating of vampy vixen lipstick completed the Hollywood glamour look.

The Dark City actress now calls Paris her home after beginning a relationship with her French beau in 2011, but she regularly flits between the city and U.S when working.

However, showing her support for her home country's talent, she attended the Tribeca event at Spring Studios with the Sydney-born design duo Tome.

The event honoured the contest's ten finalists, of which Tome were included, pronounced Paul Andrew winner, as reported by Vogue.

With celebrated talents such as Alexander Wang and Jospeh Altuzarra having gone before him, Andrew will receive $300,000 funding for his label as well as coveted mentorship program.

Melissa was previously married for 12 years to film director Claudio Dabed and then dated music producer Russell Simmons.
