Gravity's Alfonso Cuarón looks set for
an Oscar win as Ben Affleck presents him with top prize at Directors Guild Awards

A host of stars came out to show their support for the people without whom they wouldn't have such illustrious careers at the 66th Annual Directors Guild Of America Awards on Saturday night.
Held at LA's Hyatt Regency Century Plaza and hosted by Glee's Jane Lynch, as a prelude to the prestigious Academy Awards on March 2, the DGAs have a long history of predicting the Best Director Oscar-winner.
With a 90 per cent accuracy rate in the last 10 years, everyone was on the edge of their seats as they waited with bated breath to see who would scoop the all-important Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film trophy.

Following his track record already this awards season, it came as no surprise that Alfonso Cuarón was awarded the honour for his 10-time Oscar-nominated sci-fi drama Gravity.
The 52-year-old Mexican graciously accepted the award as his leading lady Sandra Bullock looked on with a beaming smile.
Cuarón had stiff competition at the DGAs from Steve McQueen (12 Years A Slave), David O Russell (American Hustle), Martin Scorsese (The Wolf Of Wall Street) and Paul Greengrass (Captain Phillips).

Cuarón's Gravity has dominated so far this awards ceremony and with this latest win under his belt, it holds him in good stead to take home his first Oscar statue come March.
Gravity is nominated in a whopping 10 Oscar categories in total - including Best Picture, Best Actress for Sandra Bullock, Best Visual Effects and Best Cinematography.
