Karen Gillan makes her TERRIFYING horror movie debut as she is terrorised by a haunted mirror in spooky trailer for new film Oculus

She shot to fame playing Matt Smith's faithful time-travel companion, Amy Pond, in Doctor Who.
But Karen Gillan is a million miles away from the BBC family show as she makes her terrifying horror movie debut in a spooky new trailer for her upcoming film, Oculus.
The 26-year-old actress put on a rather convincing portrayal of Kaylie Russell, a woman terrorised by a haunted mirror, as she appeared alongside co-stars Brenton Thwaites, Katee Sackhoff and Tim Russell in the 1.31-second clip.

Coming from the producer of nail-biting horror movies Paranormal Activity and Insidious, the trailer starts with a creepy child's voice speaking over a series of chilling images.
The girl says: 'See the mirror hanging there? Face of silver, frame of black. Oculus of glass, I stare. I can feel you staring back.
'I hear your voice, I believe your lies. A window portal to a darkened door. Should you claim my staring eyes, my soul you hold forever more.'

In a series of fast-moving images that are certainly not for the faint-hearted, the Scottish actress is seen frozen in horror as she stands in a laboratory with three masked figures walking towards her.
Picking up a lightbulb in her hands, the star's eyes widen in fear a blood begins dramatically gushing out of her mouth.

Oculus, directed and co-written by Mike Flanagan, tells the tale of siblings Kaylie and Tim - played by Karen and Brenton Thwaites - whose lives were torn apart when their parents were murdered in their childhood.
With her brother convicted of the murder, determined Kaylie attempts to exonerate him from the crime by proving the real killer was in fact a supernatural force terrorising one of their mirrors.
