Geri Halliwell is 'one of the top choices' to represent the UK in this year's Eurovision Song Contest

Say You'll Be There: Geri Halliwell is 'one of the top choices' to represent the UK in this year's Eurovision Song Contest

As one fifth of the Spice Girls, Geri Halliwell has enjoyed success in one of the UK's most iconic pop bands of all time.
And the star, who has also enjoyed a solo career, might be ready to take to the stage one more time as she's reportedly been asked to represent the country in this year's Eurovision Song Contest.
Geri, 41, is said to be topping the BBC's list of performers that they would like to appear in the annual competition, and it is said they are now hoping she will accept the offer.
Will she, won't she? Geri Halliwell is set to be the top choice to represent the UK for this year's Eurovision Song Contest

An insider told The Sun newspaper: 'She's up for a laugh and not afraid to camp things up - it's now a case of whether she is as up for it as the BBC is.
'If she wins she would be hailed as a legend, but if she doesn't score highly it could be another embarrassing moment.'
The final of the event - which sees singers from across Europe compete for their country, will be hosted by last year's winners, Denmark, and will take place in Copenhagen in May.

And no doubt the show's producers will be hoping that if she does come aboard, she will dust off that iconic Union Jack dress once more.
Geri might want to consider the offer as it's fair to say that another Spice Girls reunion is unlikely. Victoria Beckham recently told Vanity Fair magazine that her pop days are well and truly over now.
Of a future reunion, Victoria said: 'I won't ever do it again. Doing the Olympics was an incredible honour. I was so proud to do it; proud to be British...

'That was a perfect time to say, "That's great. Thank you to everybody, but no more." Sometimes you've got to know when it's time to leave the party.'
The BBC insist a decision hasn't yet been made on who will represent the UK. A spokesman said: 'The BBC is passionate about our involvement in the Eurovision Song Contest.
'We are collaborating with creative experts across the UK music industry to select this year's entry. A decision has not been made. We will make an announcement in due course.'
Last year, Bonnie Tyler represented the UK. MailOnline has contacted a spokesperson for Geri Halliwell.
