What happened to Scarlett's waist? Johansson's figure appears to have been digitally slimmed in new Captain America poster

What happened to Scarlett's waist? Johansson's figure appears to have been digitally slimmed in new Captain America poster

She's famous for her curvy and voluptuous figure.
So it's understandable that fans would be surprised to see Scarlett Johansson's highly coveted body undergo what appeared to be extensive photoshopping for a new Captain America: The Winter Soldier poster.
The 29-year-old's waist looked to have been dramatically shrunk in the promo image along with her entire physique undergoing a slimming down, which incensed commenters on Twitter.

In the now controversial image, Scarlett can be seen brandishing two pistols as she is covered in latex and rubber.
The black figure hugging outfit is her costume as the Black Widow in the Marvel franchise and reveals every contour and curve of the actress' body.
But unlike her previous incarnation as the comic book spy in 2010's Iron Man 2, Scarlett's naturally full and well-rounded figure is clearly pulled in and slimmed down to almost make her look surgically altered.

And fans on Twitter were not happy with the new more svelte Scarlett, as they gave voice to their rage on Thursday.
One commenter wrote: 'But that Black Widow poster for The Winter Soldier... WHY would you photoshop Scarlett Johansson's body like that though?'
Another wrote: 'Shame on the people at @Marvel and @CaptainAmerica that felt you had to photoshop #ScarlettJohansson until she is barely recognizable.'

Twitter outrage: Fans online were furious with the clearly photoshopped image of the Black Widow
Scarlett may have also caught the ire of not just her normal fan base but comic book aficionados.
The star plays spy Natasha Romanoff, aka The Black Widow, which she portrayed to devastating effect in The Avengers and a slew of other films in the popular Marvel hero franchise.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier hits theatres on March 26.

But this is not the first time the star has undergone some airbrushing for an ad campaign.
In 2011 she got a little help from photoshop for a Dolce & Gabbana campaign.
The smoothing over and slimming down for the ad caught the ire of fans nearly three years ago, as many believe her to be one of the most stunning natural beauties in Hollywood.
