No-longer The Wanted! Boyband's split follows year of low album sales, cancelled European tour and feud with One Direction
News of their split on Wednesday night follows a difficult 12 months for The Wanted lads, after low album sales, cancelled concerts and high-profile feuds.
Things looked rosy for the band, who will go their separate ways after their Word of Month tour last May, following the success of their first single All Time Low and self-titled debut album in 2010.
However after four years together, and reaching No.3 in the US charts, the boys failed to impress fans with their latest record Word of Mouth which peaked at No.6 in the UK.

Compared with fellow boyband One Direction, who sold 200,000-plus copies of Midnight Memories, the five-piece only managed 40,000, The Sun has reported.
The release in November came just a month before the band found themselves having to cancel all dates on the upcoming tour in mainland Europe, citing 'unforeseeable changes in our scheduling'.
Within days of the announcement, band member Max George’s had to make an abrupt departure from the US due to an urgent family matter, leaving Nathan Sykes, Jay McGuiness, Tom Parker and Siva Kaneswaran to continue their tour.

Even The Wanted's reality show on US TV network E! couldn't keep them at the top after their feud with the One Direction boys.
In April last year, around the same time Nathan had to undergo emergency vocal surgery, the two groups got involved in nasty Twitter spat.
Tom criticised Zayn Malik's singing ability, who came back calling Max, who split with fiancée Michelle Keegan the previous year, 'Chlamydia boy', before Louis Tomlinson was labelled a 'crybaby'.

However, following the sad announcement, ticket demand for their tour has surged, increasing by over 200 per cent, according to ticket marketplace Seatwave.
Tom tweeted yesterday to reassure fans: 'Just want to say... It's a break, not the end. You can't get rid of us that easily haha! x.'
While Max echoed his sentiments: 'I love you all very much, and I will say it again, this is NOT the END. #TWFanmilyaFamilyForever xxx.'
Their last UK tour date will be on April 1 and US in Oklahoma on May 17.
