What a nice mentor she is! Cheryl Fernandez-Versini surprises Lauren Platt and her parents with afternoon tea before flicking through family snaps

She has one act left in the competition, so unsurprisingly Cheryl Fernandez-Versini could turn all her attentions to her final contestant prior to this weekend's live show.
The X Factor mentor surprised Lauren Platt with a special afternoon tea with her parents on Thursday at London's Langham Hotel.
The 31-year-old was seen hugging the 17-year-old's parents Sasha and Brad before flicking through the family photo album.

The brunette beauty looked stunning for the occasion in black leather skinnies and a matching two-tone top.
Wearing her tresses tied up and curled at the ends, Cheryl no doubt wanted to treat her last remaining girl to a well deserved treat.
Taking a break from rehearsals, Lauren chose a chic LBD before tucking into cakes and sandwiches ahead of the Queen versus Michael Jackson themed week.

The newlywed watched on from the judges' desk with Brian Friedman as Lauren practiced her routine in a casual sports-style jersey and tracksuit bottoms.
During the run-through, Cheryl made her way onto the famous stage to give the young star a reassuring hug.

It has been a busy week for Cheryl, who couldn't hide her excitement as she switched on the Christmas lights on Oxford Street on Thursday.
She tweeted afterwards: 'I was so excited to switch on the Christmas lights yesterday. I was like a kid #Festive'.
Her outing came after she lashed out at her former Girls Aloud band mate Nadine Coyle, branding her 'full of s**t' for her claims that she didn't want their band to break up.

In an interview with Attitude magazine, Cheryl hit out at her one-time band mate with brutal force, as she insisted the beginning of the end was when Nadine decided to go solo.
When presented with the claim that the split was decided upon by herself and her co-stars Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh, Cheryl scoffed: 'She’s full of s**t. What d’you want us to say? She’s full of s**t.
'She was the one who wanted to make a solo record. Which is why we took the hiatus. So she’s not now going to say that we broke up the band. No? That’s it. She wants to come out and say we broke the band up? No!'

On Sunday last week, Cheryl had to say goodbye to Lola Saunders after she was eliminated from the ITV1 show.
The singer, who found herself in the bottom two with boy band Stereo Kicks, chose to sing Natural Woman, and put everything into her performance.
However after splitting the panel, the decision went to the voting public, and Lola left after being picked as a wild card by Louis Walsh.
